They say that every family has a black sheep well I say Sheep in the Big City was Cartoon Network’s black sheep. In my opinion this was the worst show they ever put on the channel. Everything about this show was stupid and lame. The show centers around a sheep named Sheep who lives on a farm but runs away to the city because the government wants to use him to power their sheep-powered ray gun. Stop right there. Just from the premise alone you know this show is gonna be stupid. A sheep-powered ray gun? Really? Are you fucking kidding me!? We bought a lot of stuff back then but nobody and I mean nobody in their right mind would ever think this premise would make a good cartoon. I mean why? Why make a ray gun powered by a sheep what kind of sick fuck wants to kill sheep to power a ray gun when there are so many other power sources to choose from? I know I’m harping on this but it’s just so stupid and ridiculous and the fact that this show got 2 seasons is a mystery. I would have cancelled the show after the first episode saying that this is stupid. The show also had a narrator who would tell the story of the episode since Sheep couldn’t talk which led to a lot of lame 4th wall jokes and Sheep’s love interest was a poodle who for reasons that I’ll never know actually liked Sheep as well. Also, nobody questions the sheep in the city, nobody questions the sheep that can walk on two legs and can do all the things a normal human can do despite the fact that it’s hinted that the show takes place in a somewhat real world setting.
The show also added in a few other lame segments in between the acts of the show such as fake commercials, a lousy superhero who wouldn’t do his job, a Viking who couldn’t maintain because he kept stealing everything, and a man talking about his day while shouting at the audience. As the lame as segments were ironically I found them to be a lot more entertaining than the actual show. Yes, the show itself is so stupid and unwatchable that it actually makes the lame segments look good. The characters are also bland and forgetful they literally have no character. Sheep is just a sheep, the General is an idiot, nobody has life in them in fact the animation looks like somebody sucked the life out of it. This show was just stupid, it wasn’t funny, the story made no sense, the main character is a fucking sheep that was not interesting at all, and it is hands down the worst cartoon Cartoon Network ever gave us. Don’t. Ever. Do. This. Again.
