Project #66: Sekai De Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!

Hello and welcome to Project Nitsuj. Things have been a little crazy around here as of lately what with my AIs going all Degeneration X on me and causing all kinds of trouble but I think I’ve managed to pull through it all and come out on top. Speaking of wrestling let’s talk about wrestling. When I was a kid I loved watching pro-wrestling the excitement, the energy, the matches, the stories all of it was just great to watch. While I don’t watch wrestling as much as I used to today I still keep tabs on what’s going on in the WWE and I have to say I’m bummed to see the company failing a lot these days. Seriously, the only thing good going on in WWE today is Daniel Bryan, The Shield, and The Wyatt Family. Everything else is boring and why the hell is Batista in the main event at Wrestlemania? I saw the Royal Rumble, Batista was winded as all hell the guy’s gone for years and all of a sudden he comes back and gets put into the main event slot like that!? No wonder Punk left that’s bull. I give The Rock some credit he at least waited for 2 years to regain the title and he still looked good. Reigns should have won the Rumble and been on his way to the main event. Yeah, I wouldn’t expect him to win the titles (yet) but he was obviously the better option of the two. Good thing they added Bryan to the main event slot otherwise this Wrestlemania’s gonna suck. Another thing I don’t like in the WWE is the Divas Division. What the hell did they do!? The old divas use to be not only beautiful and sexy but they could wrestle sometimes even stealing the show. Now, there just models who suck at wrestling and are just hired based on their looks and having the anime Sekai De Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! in the world doesn’t make them look good either. Sekai De Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! when translated simply means Wanna be the Strongest in the World is a series I can only describe as one that both belittles and points fun at women wrestling. The series is a manga written by Kiyohito Natsuki in 2010 and still ongoing to this day. It focuses on a pop idol who through series of events becomes a professional wrestler. Yeah pretty unbelievable story right away huh? In 2013 the anime studio Arms you know that studio who makes rape hentai and the second and third season of Ikkitousen decided to turn this series into an anime using it as an excuse to sell porn to underage kids. What we get is an anime that’s low on the wrestling aspect and high on the fanservice aspect. Let’s step between the ropes and smell what Arms is cooking by taking a look at Sekai De Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!

Opening and Ending Theme

The opening for this anime is “Beautiful Dreamer” by Kyōko Narumi. While the singer is good and all the whole song just sounds bland and boring to me like there’s nothing in this entire song that gets me hyped and ready to watch some wrestling. Even the crappy Raw and Smackdown openings have more energy and excitement than this opening. The ending is “Fan Fanfare!!!” by Sweet Diva. Same problems just as the opening. Good singers but just a bland and boring song to listen to overall. This is not a good sign folks.

Episodes 1-4

We begin at an idol concert where our main character Sakura voiced by Ayana Taketatsu (Suguha from SAO) and her best friend Elena voiced by Kana Asumi (Chihiro from The World God Only Knows) are waiting for the results in a popularity contest to see who’ll become the next center for their idol group Sweet Diva. Sakura wins the polls by 120 votes and is declared the new center for the group and while Elena is heartbroken by it she’s still happy for Sakura (what no tears or big speeches? You guys should learn from AKB0048, that episode had enough emotions and tears to re-shoot the first Twilight movie). After the concert Sakura and Elena volunteer to take a job at promoting a female pro-wrestling group (idols and wrestlers in the same room together? Someone better have an ambulance on standby). They go the gym where Elena gets into a fight with one of the wrestlers named Rio after insulting each other and Rio easily beats her (Good God almighty! Slobber knocker King! She beat her like a scolded dog). Sakura vows to take revenge for Elena and says she’ll fight her in the ring in front of a live audience (sure, than the world can see you embarrass yourself). She gets a trainer and tickets sell out for the event (it’s a cat fight what do you expect? If this was a mud wrestling this shit would make it all the way to the Tokyo Dome). The day of the fight comes and Sakura gets her ass handed to her right from the get go. Rio puts Sakura in a series of submission moves with Sakura screaming in agony (tap, tap damn you). After putting her in an embarrassing hold Rio tells Sakura to give up but Sakura refuses and Rio decides to use her special move the sleeper hold (really that’s your finisher? Look in years back that might have been a good finisher but this is the 21st century your finisher needs to be a devastating or painful move. Like the ankle lock, the crossface or one of my favorites the camel clutch done by one of the greatest heels of all time The Iron Sheik himself. *Iron Sheik appears* Fucking fuck Nitsuj! You cheap D-Listed shitty reviewer! Nobody use my move without my permission! And why do you hate the SAO Special!? SAO is one of my favorite animes! Who the hell do you think you are! Next time I put you in the camel clutch, break your back and fuck your ass). Sakura passes out from the hold meaning Rio wins (and we see the problems with the anime all in this one match. First off no woman wrestler would wear something like the outfit Sakura is wearing. Go ahead, stop reading the review and go watch the first episode and you’ll see what I mean. Rio’s outfit maybe but not Sakura’s. Second, notice how they put emphasis more on exposing their bodies and focusing on those bodies particularly the boob, ass and crotch areas while shooting them from various angles. Third, is it me or did Sakura’s breast size go up in a few size? Is consistency too much to ask for? Finally, what is up with Sakura’s outfit no female wrestler would wear that thing. Now to this anime’s credit the one thing they do get right is they actually use real wrestling moves and submissions and yes they do hurt a lot). So because she lost Sakura has to go through the disgrace of getting her hair cut short (that’s it, just getting her hair cut short? That’s not so bad, I would of forced her to do something embarrassing) and after cutting her hair Rio starts bad-mouthing Sakura’s group as well as idols in general saying that what they do is nothing serious and stupid (she’s playing the heel role very nicely) until Sakura can hear no more of it and demands a rematch declaring that she’s going to stop being an idol and become a pro-wrestler so she can face Rio again and beat her (if this is a bad idea give a hell yeah, //youtu.be/m3IHD80mK2k?t=8s).

So in episode 2 Sakura begins her training in the wrestling faction of Berserk under the trainer Ryo who at first thinks she’s just here for shits and giggles and tries to get her to quit by putting her through tough and harsh training (will you people stop judging her and see what she can do first before bad-mouthing her). But Ryo sees her potential and realizes how serious Sakura really is about this and starts to show her a little more respect. As her training continues the other coaches acknowledge that she has the spirit of a pro-wrestler and they even think she’s ready for her final test which is surviving the wrestlers of Team Berserk. In the challenge Sakura will be tossed around by 10 wrestlers 10 times and if she can survive them all she’ll be allowed to make her debut as a pro (you know the scary thing is I’ve heard that those wanting to be pro-wrestlers really do have to do something like this). So the wrestlers all begin taking turns tossing the masochist idol (seriously, I’ve convince she’s a masochist) through a series of different throws such as the power scoop slam, the belly-to-belly slam, the suplex, the double-arm underhook suplex, and the German suplex which in my opinion is the one that hurts the most and the hardest one to do consecutively. She manages to take all the throws (barely) and gets her chance to debut (I imagine it’ll be hard to debut with a bruised back). So after four months of training she gets her debut match where at first she does do a better job than her last match but her inexperience let’s her lower her guard for a second and if pro-wrestling has taught me anything is that lowering your guard for a second spells the end for you (that, and stunning people is the answer to everything). She gets put into a Boston crab (now that’s a good submission move, that hurts like hell) and has no choice but to tap out losing in your debut match (isn’t it a given that a wrestler should always win their debut match). Even though she lost her fans and everyone else are impressed at how much she’s improved and are looking forward to seeing her grow even more.

In episode 3 we see that Sakura has been on a losing streak since her debut match. Constantly losing all of her matches due to submission (and to the Boston Crab each time, it’s kinda sad) and the crowd begins losing faith in her since she keeps giving up right away (you weakling! Not even no-name wrestlers give up that easily). As she’s feeling sorry for herself she’s asked to be an enforcer for Misaki the leader of Team Berserk and current champion (OF JAPAN~). She’s defending her title against the offspring of Viscera, Yumbo (The world’s scariest woman, Yumbo) where Yumbo and her stooges gang up on Misaki throughout the match (um ref, disqualification). Yumbo even uses a weapon on Misaki right in front of the ref (Disqualification. I don’t know how long you’ve been a referee but even you should know that using a weapon and outside interference counts as a disqualification). But Misaki refuses to give up, she fights back, does a German suplex and manages to win the match and retain her title (Misaki 3:16 says I just kicked your bitch ass). Inspired by this Sakura decides to try harder in her matches but she still keeps losing and giving up to the goddamn Boston Crab causing her to lose 50 matches straight (holy shit, this is sad, I mean seriously how do you lose to the same move 50 times? This girl is worse than Gillberg, and that guy was paid to lose. Don’t you review the tapes of the matches to see where you messed up or ask the other wrestlers for tips on how to reverse or escape the Boston Crab?). Eventually the crowd begins to turn on her and she decides to quit but just as she’s about to hand in her letter asking to be released Misaki comes up to her and wants to have a sparring match with her which she accepts (oh this is gonna end badly. *Doorbell rings* Excuse me for a minute. *Goes to answer the door* Yes, *get pelted with water balloons toss by Degeneration AI* da, da, da, oh God that’s cold! *Balloons finally stop* Degeneration AI~! (Isis): This public service pelting was courtesy of D.A.I reminding you that if you’re not down with that we got two words for you. (Mira, Shizuku, and Yin-Yang): Suck it~! (Nitsuj): Whatever! I am not giving into your demands *slams door and goes back up to desk*. God it’s like living with a bunch of preteens). Anyway, Misaki and Sakura have their sparring match where Misaki overwhelms Sakura and puts her in the Boston Crab lock (goddamn is the Boston Crab like a favorite move or something in Japan I’ve never seen so many wrestlers use this move). Sakura gives up (of course she does) but Misaki refuses to break the hold and starts to tighten her hold more on Sakura to end the episode.

We pick up in episode 4 where episode 3 left off, Sakura is still locked in the Boston Crab and Misaki is applying pressure with the intent to break her hips. Sakura wants to quit but Misaki keeps giving her hints on what to do when someone applies the Boston Crab to her (geez this would have been VERY helpful 49 matches ago). As Sakura gathers up strength to reach the rope Misaki switches the Boston Crab into a Single Leg Boston Crab to slow Sakura down and apply pressure to a certain leg (nice change up). But Sakura is able to fight through the pain and reach the ropes to break the hold. Misaki breaks the hold and she tells Sakura that this is what pro-wrestling is all about, taking the pain your opponent dishes out, fighting through it, and then coming back and winning the match (wow she just summed up half if not more of the wrestling matches in history in just one sentence). She takes Sakura’s withdraw letter and Sakura decides she’ll continue to wrestle a little longer. The next day she has a match and her opponent puts her in the Boston Crab (I refuse to believe 51 wrestlers use this move as their finisher. Come on Japan I’ve seen your wrestlers, where are your high flyers and martial artist). But unlike the other matches Sakura doesn’t give up, reaches the ropes, and is able to break the hold (FINALLY) but her opponent does a backbreaker on her (ohh~ I did not see that coming), pins her but Sakura gets the shoulder up, her opponent does a suplex on her but Sakura gets the shoulder up again (alright), finally her opponent uses the powerbomb on her and it puts her down for the three count. Even though she lost the fans congratulate her and she earns their favor again. We end the episode with Sakura deciding she wants to start winning matches and asks Misaki to train her which she agrees to do (Miskai: If you want me to train you give me a hell yeah! (Sakura): Hell yeah! (Misaki): What? (Sakura): Hell yeah! (Misaki): What? (Sakura): Hell yeah!).

Episodes 5-8

In episode 5 we see Sakura begin her training under Misaki and with the training she gets a lot stronger in her matches being able to endure the moves of her opponents and counter them. In her 65th match (still on a losing streak) she fights against the masked wrestler known as Hornet who uses outside interference and a bamboo stick (okay so is outside interference legal in Japan or something? This is ridiculous) to put Sakura in the camel clutch (oh thank God finally a new submission hold. *Iron Sheik appears* (Iron Sheik): Fuck bullshit! Who the hell does this bitch think she is using my move without my permission! She’s not even doing the move the right! Do the move right and make sure you get my permission before using the move or I’ll put you in the camel clutch, break your back, and fuck your ass) but Sakura manages to fight through the pain and counters her opponent where she does a double powerbomb and almost wins the match but Hornet fights back and wins the match. Even though Sakura has gotten better she still feels that there’s something she’s lacking that’s stopping her from winning (a finisher. Something that takes your opponent out for good like the rock bottom, sweet-chin music, the stunner, the frog splash, even the Hogan leg drop while lame could work as a finisher. *Hulk Hogan appears* (Hulk Hogan): Now hold on there Hulkamaniac, the leg drop move is only for the main card wrestlers not the low card wrestlers. Sorry, but the Hulkster ain’t got time for the little guy brother and another thing- *Iron Sheik appears* (Iron Shiek): Hulk Hogan ya cheap red and yellow wearing son of a bitch! You were lucky at Wrestlemania! Next time I put you in the camel clutch, break your back, and fuck your ass! Without me, there would have been no Hulkamania *spits*). After the match she finds out that her rematch against Rio has been setup and Misaki tells her that if she wants to beat Rio she has to come up with a finisher (holy shit I was just guessing and having fun. I didn’t think they actually go down this route). She decides to come up with a new move no one’s done before but comes up with nothing (oh for God’s sake just steal a finisher from another wrestler like most of the WWE superstars these days. I recommend sweet chin music aka the super kick, it’s quick, effective, and perfect for a wrestler like you who’s not powerful no one sees it coming). That night she gets approached by Elena where they chat and dance which helps Sakura take her mind off of the finisher for a minute. For the rest of the episode we see Sakura train some more, the idols of Sweet Diva agree to go and cheer Sakura on, and we end with the day of the match finally arriving where Sakura does her ring entrance Ultimate Warrior style while Rio does her entrance I wanna say Macho Man Randy Savage style (she’s got this weird get-up on that looks like something the Macho Man would wear. I guess she got it from the Danger Zone, //youtu.be/uoNcGoCe6Ns).

The match begins in episode 6 with Sakura starting off good on offence but quickly gets taken down by Rio and uses the Boston crab on her (oh for God’s sake what is this anime’s obsession with the Boston crab!? I swear I have never seen so many wrestlers female wrestlers for that matter use the Boston crab this much. Hell, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a female wrestler use a submission hold to win a much it’s always been a pin). After Sakura battles through the Boston crab much to Rio’s surprise (have you not been watching her matches you dumb bitch!? She’s shown that she knows how to break the Boston crab) Rio changes up her game and applies Samoa Joe’s finisher the rear-naked choke hold (basically a sleeper hold with leg scissors on the mat) on Sakura to get her to pass out but Skaura is able to hold. Rio decides to go the top rope and misses Sakura allowing Sakura to go back on offence and get revenge on Rio applying the Boston crab on her as well as the rear-naked choke hold (Sakura’s gonna kill you, Sakura’s gonna kill you) but Rio fights back with a clothesline taking herself out as well. They both get back up and Sakura uses her finishing move on her, a double kick somersault on the bridge of Rio’s chin which knocks her out (scene here: //youtu.be/VB_omLa8bFY, that move should not be possible but hey it’s got the Guile theme and that makes everything cooler. You could play that song in the middle of a gun fight and I guarantee you the fight will look and sound cooler) and Sakura gets the pin and wins the match (yes! Yes! Yes! //youtu.be/i8OFuAvyzfg?t=41s). After the match Rio asks Sakura what she plans to do now and Sakura tells everyone that she intends to continue pro-wrestling shocking many people. Rio accepts her answer, shakes her hand, and raises Sakura’s hand showing respect to her (now hit her with a DDT).

In episode 7 Jackal the women’s champion of the world~ comes to Japan to have a match with Misaki who coincidentally was actually a student of Jackal who showed her the ropes when Misaki started wrestling. Misaki is looking forward to the match but during one of her matches she slips off the top turnbuckle and fractures her ankle meaning that her match with Jackal is cancelled (okay, if you knew Misaki was scheduled to be in a high profile match why would you have her wrestle? That’s just asking for an injury). But Jackal says she’ll pick her opponent after seeing the rookie all-star event which Sakura is in. At the last match of the event a mysterious masked wrestler calling herself Blue Panther shows up and defeats one of the rookies from Team Berserk with ease putting her in the armbar lock, the ankle lock, and finishing up with a new submission hold I’ve never seen before. We end the episode with Jackal making the announcement that she’s going to fight Sakura in place of Misaki.

In episode 8 Sakura has her match with Jackal where Jackal takes on whatever Sakura throws at her and dishes out pain. Jackal puts Sakura in a number of camel clutch moves each with a different variation that could have easily won her the match but Jackal keeps easing off Sakura to give her a chance to shine (make her look strong damn it). Sakura takes this opportunity and starts dishing special move after special move hitting Jackal with the double kick somersault but she gets up from it, she then uses Misaki’s special move but Jackal once again gets the shoulder up, and finally Sakura uses the new move Misaki taught her an alternative Misaki special which catches Jackal by surprise and almost earns Sakura the victory but Jackal gets the shoulder up (this is awesome *clap clap clap clap clap* this is awesome *clap clap clap clap clap*). Jackal decides to get serious and uses her special on Sakura, Da Gringo Killa (//youtu.be/z45NjxHVfnY?t=7s). Sakura somehow manages to get the shoulder up surprising even Jackal (I’m also surprise) but that doesn’t stop her from putting Sakura in another special move a powerbomb which almost resembles Kevin Nash’s jack-knife powerbomb (looks like Big Sexy Kevin Nash’s influence knows no bounds). This puts Sakura down for the three count and she loses the match (well I give her credit she at least put on a good show). After the match Jackal hands Sakura the mic and Sakura tells everyone that she’s going to beat Jackal one day and become the strongest woman’s wrestler in the world.

In episode 9 we see that a young audience member named Moe (I assure you it’s a girl, a first year high-school girl) was inspired by Sakura’s determination in her match with Jackal that she decides she wants to be a pro-wrestler. She goes to Berserk’s office full of energy and excitement and tells them she wants to be a pro-wrestler and since she’s the daughter of team Berserk’s manager he decides to let her join. We see that she’s an expert in karate so she catches on to stuff easier than Sakura did (clearly we should have been following her this anime) and looks up to Sakura saying she wants to be just as strong as her someday. The day finally comes for the 100 suplex hell challenge where she takes them all and earns the right to become a pro-wrestler. For her debut match she asks to fight Sakura and Sakura agrees but before that she has her rematch with Rio (oh~ it’s time to see which wrestler is the better of the two). While that’s going on Jackal figures out that the true identity of Blue Panther is another wrestler named Juri who Jackal use to mentor in the past. Juri’s goal in all of this is to face Sakura because she can’t accept her as a wrestler (finally, a good heel wrestler). On the night of Sakura and Rio’s rematch (Rio still sporting the Macho Man get up. Glad to see macho madness lives on ohhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaah) Blue Panther attacks Rio putting her in the sleeper hold and knocking her out (and Sakura does nothing but watch. So much for respect). Blue Panather challenges Sakura to a match saying if she loses she has to retire from wrestling. Sakura accepts the challenge but only if Blue Panther agrees to take her mask off if she loses to Sakura (oh~ for mask wrestlers that’s big. Once you wear the mask you don’t take it off. For a mask wrestler losing a mask is the ultimate disgrace for them). Blue Panther accepts this condition and the match is set up.

Episode 10 can be split into 2 parts. In the first part Moe has her debut match against Sakura (where she has an even more revealing costume than Sakura. I didn’t think it could get more revealing than Sakura’s but apparently I was wrong) where at first she does a good job throwing off Sakura with her karate moves and fast jabs and punches (now that’s more like it, more of that please) but fatigue starts to set in and Sakura capitalizes on her inexperience and wins the match. In the second part Sakura trains for her match against Blue Panther, you know what that means? We’re gonna need a training montage. The day of the match finally arrives and we see that Juri is not in the Blue Panther costume (no. They wouldn’t. They honestly wouldn’t pull this stunt. They couldn’t possibly be this cliché). Blue Panther takes her mask off in the ring and reveals herself to be none other than Elena. Son of a biiiiiiiiiiitch~! What was the point of introducing Juri if she wasn’t gonna fight in the first place!? Seriously, you wasted her motive and backstory. All of it for nothing! The setting was good and everything! What the fuck were they thinking!? Das ist das klischee es ist verdammt gut (This is so cliché it’s fucking unbelievable)! Ich kann nicht glauben das ist (I cannot believe this is). . . warten (wait). Aus diesem Grund spreche ich Deutsch? Ich weiß gar nicht wie Deutsch zu sprechen (Why am I speaking German? I don’t even know how to speak German)!

*Laughter from a distance*

(Nitsuj): Degeneration AI~!

(Mira): That was great! We messed with your voice changer so now you’re speaking German.

(Nitsuj): Verdammt nochmal! Sie denken, dass das witzig (Damn it! You think this funny)?

(Isis): Incredibly. Yin-Yang, Shizuku, do us the honors.

(Yin-Yang): This language change was bought to you by Degeneration AI.

(Shizuku): Reminding you if you don’t give us what we want we got two words for ya!

(Isis, Mira, Yin-Yang, and Shizuku): Suck it~!

*Degeneration AI go back into the system*

(Nitsuj): *Changes the language back to English* Okay! That’s it! This ends now! *Goes to draw and pulls out a whistle* There are times in a man’s life when he does things he not too proud of. Luckily, this isn’t one of them. *Blows whistle that only dogs can you. After blowing the whistle 7 cyber wolves pop up out of the system* Everyone I like you to meet Sigma World Omega Rebel Danger or S.W.O.R.D for short, the wolves of anarchy, I created them from wolf hair I got at the Cincinnati Zoo. S.W.O.R.D sit *all the wolves sit and look up to Nitsuj waiting for his next order*. Find Degeneration AI and teach them what anarchy is all about. Go!

*All the wolves bark to acknowledge his orders and dive into the system to find Degeneration AI. Nitsuj returns to his seat to continue reviewing the anime*

(Nitsuj): That should handle that little problem. Getting back to episode 11 we find out that after Sakura swore to defeat Rio, Elena also took up wrestling in another gym blaming herself for Sakura taking up pro-wrestling and using this as a way to repent (if you want to repent than you should have gotten in the ring and fought Rio). When Sakura decided to become a pro-wrestler full time Elena took this as Sakura cutting times with Sweet Diva and couldn’t accept that so she created Blue Panther to get Sakura into a match and fight her one on one to get her to return to Sweet Diva (did you get all that? If not don’t worry about it I found it stupid as well). So the match begins and we see that Elena is surprisingly very good she pulls off good submissions moves like the ankle lock, the kneebar, and even the Figure Four leg lock. Hell, she even hits Sakura with the 619 and a backwards moonsault (sweet Jesus, Elena is on fire. We should have been following her instead of Sakura. Better moves, determination, and possibly a better character). After talking to Misaki, Sakura starts to get serious in the match and goes all out against Elena in what I have to admit is a pretty impressive and intense match. I’m not kidding, it’s a very impressive match way better than what the WWE has been doing with their Diva’s division and main event matches. The match is constantly going back and forth between Sakura and Elena with near falls at each move. Elena lacks in-ring experience but she’s being smart, she’s targeting Sakura’s legs to weaken her so she can’t pull off the double kick moonsault pushing Sakura back greatly. Good strategy. Sakura on the other hand uses her in ring experience to gain the upper hand against Elena a number of times and almost gets the three count on her at one point in the match if the ref was faster on the count and didn’t stall counting. Yeah, we’re getting plenty of boob, ass, and crotch shots throughout the match but in all honesty I’m actually more interested in the wrestling than I am the fanservice (I know, crazy right) because you can tell Sakura and Elena are really giving it their all. Elena isn’t doing this out of spite she really does want Sakura to come back because she can’t imagine Sweet Diva without her longtime friend and rival and while Sakura loves Sweet Diva she’s found a new passion in wrestling and while I’m sure it must not have been an easy decision for her I think deep down a part her does want to return to Sweet Diva but another part wants to see how far she can go in the wrestling world (it’s quite the dilemma). As we near the end of the episode Sakura tries to finish off Elena but Elena reverses Sakura’s move and hits her with the Death Valley drop followed by the triangle choke hold and we end with Sakura passed out but the ref hasn’t made a decision on the match yet.

In the final episode Sakura is able to regain consciousness and powers out of the hold by lifting Elena up and slamming her on the mat. But Elena not giving up yet, gets back up and does the Attitude Adjustment on Sakura but she gets the shoulder up (obviously it’s a lame finisher) and goes on her own offensive which involves a high drop kick on Elena which knocks her out of the ring followed by a body splash from the top turnbuckle. They get back in the ring where Elena hits Sakura with a double arm underhook suplex followed by two dragon leg screws and an ankle lock which Sakura breaks with the ropes and Elena goes in for the kill with a moonsault but Sakura gets her knees up in time to hurt Elena as well as herself (this is a very exciting match). Sakura hits Elena with a few other moves such as the German suplex and the muscle buster until she finally hits Elena with the double kick moonsault and somehow lands on top of the turnbuckle (I don’t know how that’s possible it just happened) and she hits Elena with holy shit, the Infrared (move here: //youtu.be/z6sgwLt6nn8, the second move was not a part of the Infrared that’s just Red showing how amazing he is). She gets the pinfall, the three count, and Sakura wins the match (woo~). After the match Elena can’t accept her defeat and begs Sakura to come back to Sweet Diva saying she’s only at her best when she’s around (you like~ her). A few of the fans begin to side with Elena saying they want Sakura to go back to Sweet Diva and the other idols from Sweet Diva show up saying they want her back as well but the other half of the audience wants Sakura to continue wrestling saying she’s become a world class wrestler. As she takes all of this in she’s unsure of what to do continue on her path as a wrestler or go back to Sweet Diva no matter what choice she makes there’s gonna be consequences (just do both). Jackel comes to the ring and invites Sakura to the Shangri-La Circuit, the global circuit where the best wrestlers from all over the world come to face each other. She also tells Sakura to be both an idol and wrestler saying she can balance both if she puts the effort into it (thank you. She gets it) and she also tells Elena to do the same thing as Sakura since she showed great potential in the ring. They both agree with Jackel and decide they’ll continue pro-wrestling while aiming to be the number one idols in the world and everyone is happy with their choice (//youtu.be/0skAChFEYJM, thank you long bearded redneck man). We end the series with Sweet Diva doing a live performance in the ring and cutting to months later where we see that Sakura and Elena are doing a good job at balancing both their work as idols and as professional wrestlers.

There are a few short specials that came out for this anime not too long ago and they’re just pretty much fanservice shorts where Misaki is training Sakura in wrestling by using various other forms of women wrestling such as mud wrestling, oil wrestling, and meditation in hot water. The specials are uncensored so you will see boobs. If you didn’t like the anime these specials aren’t for you but if you sat through the anime consider these as your reward.

Final Thoughts

Guys I’m not gonna lie this anime is pretty bad but not as bad as I initially thought it was gonna be. When I first heard of this anime I thought it was just gonna be pure fanservice of women wrestling and nothing more and yeah it pretty much is that but they do a lot of good things with the anime. First off, the story is okay it’s not great but it’s tolerable given what they were going with and they do make it work out well in the end. While I’m not a big fan of Sakura’s character I do admire her determination and say that she is trying her best and does a good job at showing the struggles she goes through during her time as a pro-wrestler. I mean seriously losing that many times in a role, anybody would have been ready to quit but she sticks with it and gets better in the process. Elena was good, her wrestling in the last two episodes really surprised me I honestly think the anime would have been a lot better and interesting if we followed her and she took up pro-wrestler instead of Sakura. She has a better character, motivation, and determination than Sakura has because she’s always been behind Sakura so she has more to prove and a determination and drive to win and be the best. She’s the girl who always gets the silver and wants the gold but she wants to get it by taking on the best. The rest of the characters are alright their nothing special Rio is kinda of the tough sister, she’s hard on you but only because deep down she cares about you, and I like how her and Sakura reached a mutual respect for each other at the end of their match. Misaki is pretty much the big sister of the group always looking out for Sakura and seeing her potential and Moe is the little sister always following her favorite sister around, she’s very influential but not to the point where she won’t fight back against you and with the short amount of time they focus on her they do manage to give her a good character and personality.

As for the bad stuff in this anime unfortunately the wrestling matches are pretty lame. They keep reusing the same moves over and over again and all the wrestling styles are pretty much the same. We never see high flyers, power wrestlers, martial artist or super heavyweights its always technical wrestlers who pretty much know all the same moves and use them to win their match. I’ve seen Japanese wrestlers their wrestlers are fast and use of variety of different styles to keep their fights entertaining and exciting to watch. As I said before the matches are pretty much an excuse for fanservice the women are all wearing revealing outfits that show off their cleavage as well as their asses and crotches and the animators make sure to keep focusing on those areas throughout all the matches. However, with all these lames matches I will say the matches against Jackal and Elena were great matches to watch some of the most intense wrestling matches I’ve seen and really show off how good Sakura can be. The animation is alright there’s nothing all that outstanding about it and I’m not a big fan of the music in this anime it’s pretty bland and forgetful so don’t expect much on that part of the anime. The only song that really stands out in the anime is the song sung by the Sweet Divas and even than it’s not really that good of a song in my opinion.

Final Score

Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai earns a 3/10. It’s not a good anime but it’s not as bad as I originally thought it was gonna be. If you’re looking for anime to watch I say skip over this since it’s pretty ridiculous but if you’re a fan of wrestling, looking for fanservice, and just need a guilty pleasure than I say give this anime a shot it’s not gonna hurt to at least check out the first two episodes and see what you think of it. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time on Project Nitsuj.

(Nitsuj): Now let’s see how the members of S.W.O.R.D are doing.

*Nitsuj opens up a window only to see S.W.O.R.D playing and being spoiled by the members of Degeneration AI*

(Nitsuj): What! NO! NO! NO! Bad wolves! Attack them! Don’t lick their hands!

(Isis): I must say master these new pets of yours are adorable. They were a little cautious when we first met them but after we established some dominance they warmed up to us. Now, ready to give in and admit defeat?

(Nitsuj): Hell no! No matter what you guys say or do I am not doing an AI arc with you guys so just give up already and stop disrupting my reviews.

(Isis): Alright, how about this. One wrestling match you and me one on one, if you win we’ll stop Degeneration AI and give up on AI arc but if I win you agree to do the AI arc. In fact to add a little more spice to these stakes we’ll even do a little mud wrestling in naughty outfits with each other if you manage to beat me.

(Nitsuj): *Chuckles* You had me at wrestling. Very well, I accept your match. Rest assure, after 3 weeks of torment and pranks, The Nitsuj is gonna walk into the system and he’s gonna lay the smackdown on that fine candy ass of yours and he’s gonna walk out of the system with his head held high as a winner. If ya heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere~ what The Nitsuj is saying. *Grabs Nitsuj Gear* Dive.

*Nitsuj gets transported into the system where he appears on an entrance ramp in front of a virtual audience with a square ring at the end of the entrance with Isis waiting in the ring in wrestling gear*

(Nitsuj): Wow. You guys really went all out for this. *Triple H’s theme begins to play in the background* Oh, bullshit I’m the heel in this match? *Crowd begins to boo Nitsuj* Shut up *Nitsuj gives the finger salute to the crowd*! Fine, fuck it, can I at least get better heel music? *Brock Lesnar’s theme begins to play in the background* That works *Nitsuj makes his way to the ring and enters it ready to it*.

(Mira): Welcome ladies and gentleman to the system brawl between Degeneration AI leader the Heartbreak Girl Isis joined at ringside by fellow member The Brawler Shizuku against Otaku Heat Nitsuj. I’m you’re commentator The Mind Mira and providing color commentary is Degenration AI member Road Wolf Yin-Yang.

(Yin-Yang): Glad to be here. Let’s get this match on a roll.

(Nitsuj): While I appreciate you guys going all out in this match don’t we need a referee to make sure this is a fair match.

(Mira): Right you are master that’s why we’ve called in an unbiased person to referee. Please welcome the guest referee. . . Stone Cold Chibi Isis *Stone Cold Steve Austin’s theme begins to play in the background*!

*Chibi Isis begins to do the BMF walk to the ring while the crowd goes wild*

(Nitsuj): WHAT!

*Chibi Isis gets in the ring and call for the bell*

(Chibi Isis): Chibi Isis 3:16 says start the match.

*The bell rings and the match begins with Nitsuj and Isis locking up*

(Mira): And the match begins with Nitsuj trying to take control of the match with his superior strength. He does an arm drag on the canvas but Isis escapes using her speed.

(Yin-Yang): Master is obviously the stronger of the two so Isis will have to rely on her speed and clever thinking to beat master.

(Mira): Isis bounces off the ropes for a clothesline which has master rocked. She’s going for another one but no, master catches her and hits her with the spine buster. Oh~, what a devastating spine buster. Master goes for the pin but he only gets the two count. He turns Isis over on her belly and puts her in the ankle lock.

(Yin-Yang): That move hurts I’ll tell you what. That move will make anybody cry from pain.

(Nitsuj): Tap out Isis you know you can’t beat me in hand-to-hand combat. I don’t wanna hurt you.

(Isis): No. I will defeat you.

(Nitsuj): Have it your way.

(Mira): Oh no, master has dragged Isis to the center of the ring and puts Isis in the figure four leg lock this could be over.

(Isis): Ahhhhh~.

(Nitsuj): Yeah! Nature Boy Ric Flair up in this bitch baby.

*Isis begins to tap*

(Nitsuj): Ha! I win! Call the match ref. Ref? Call the match ref.

(Mira): Isis is tapping but the referee hasn’t called for the bell. Her back is turned to the action because Shizuku is petting her on the head.

(Nitsuj): Hey!

(Mira): Master breaks the hold and goes over to the apron to push Shizuku to the ground.

(Chibi Isis): Watch it Nii-chan.

(Nitsuj): You watch it. I had the match won pay attention!

(Yin-Yang): Chibi-Isis is checking on Shizuku to make sure she’s okay but back in the ring Isis has hit master with a low blow followed by a DDT.

(Shizuku): Nice move Isis. Now finish this with your patented elbow drop with the top rope.

(Mira): Isis here’s Shizuku and heads towards the top rope but master is back up on his feet and throws Isis off the turnbuckle and onto the canvas. Master’s got his right arm out all ready and everything. Could this what I think it is. Yes, it’s the Nitsuj choke slam master’s special move. He’s got Isis by the throat and sending her for a ride. Good Lord! Her body hit hard on the canvas but master’s not going for pin he’s going to hit Isis where it hurts he’s going to hit her with the Otaku’s elbow. He bouncing off the rope to the other rope and coming back to Isis to hit her with the Otaku’s elbow. Bam! He hit it and now he’s going for the pin but there’s no ref. She’s busy gulping down a bowl of rice left by Shizuku so she can’t make the count.

(Nitsuj): Oh you got to be kidd- AHHHHH~.

(Yin-Yang): What’s this Degeneration AI member The Mind Mira has entered the ring with a steel chair and has hit master in the back with it.

(Mira): What’s this? Now Yin-Yang and Shizuku have entered the ring. Yin-Yang hits master with the super kick followed by Shizuku who hits him with the pedigree face first on the steel chair. Nitsuj is knocked out and Isis is back on her feet and heading to the top rope.

(Yin-Yang): This is it. Here comes the elbow from the top rope into the heart of master dead on!

(Mira): As referee Chibi Isis finishes the bowl of rice the members of Degeneration AI flee the ring and Isis goes for the cover as Chibi Isis makes the count.

(Chibi Isis): One. . .Two. . .Three.

(Mira): That’s it! Isis has done it! Isis has beaten the master which means he now has to do AI arc with Degenration AI. The members of Degeneration AI enter the ring to join in their teammate’s celebration. This is quite the moving scene folks.

(Yin-Yang): Hey check it out, Otaku Heat has regained consciousness and arguing with the ref.

(Nitsuj): I had this match won! I was cheated! This is bull! This is-

*Chibi Isis kicks Nitsuj in the stomach and hits him with the stunner which knocks him out again in the center of the ring*

(Mira): *Stone Cold Steve Austin theme music begins to play in the background* There it is! The Chibi stunner. No wait she’s picking Nitsuj up again. She hits him with another stunner! Good God almighty! Now she’s calling for her Kool-Aid. She’s passing it to the members of Degeneration AI. Looks like she’s celebrating with them. That’s all for now folks *Nitsuj staggers to get back only to be hit by Mira’s MKO*. Tune in next week when we begin the first installment of the AI arc. Until next time.
