Project #95: Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? of the Dead/ Is This a Zombie? of the Dead

Hello and welcome to Project Nitsuj. It’s time to talk about zombies again and this time we’re returning to the silly antics of everyone’s favorite zombie Ayumu in “Is this a zombie? of the dead”. For those of you who have forgotten this horror comedy allow me to summarize the first season. *Takes a deep breath* Ayumu is an average boy who lives an average life until one night he befriends a girl name Eu a necromancer who doesn’t speak because she has amazing powers that causes her pain whenever she talks. As he’s walking home one night he gets killed by a serial killer and is bought back to life by Eu as a zombie *Perfect*. With his new life Ayumu dedicates his time to finding the person who killed him and taking revenge on them so no one else dies. Through his search he meets and befriends Haruna a magical garment girl, Sera a vampire ninja, and through a series of events Ayumu absorbs Haruna’s powers and becomes a magical garment girl himself *Excellent*. He finds his killer who turns out to be Kyoko another magical garment girl who’s crazy as hell and with the combine power of all his friends he’s able to beat her. But it turns out she was under the control of a being known as The King of the Night another zombie who Eu saved long ago and has returned because he wants Eu to kill him. Ayumu accidently kisses Yuki another vampire ninja which according to vampire ninja customs the two are now married. Not wanting to see her friends get hurt Eu gives herself up to the King of the Night but still refuses to kill him because she doesn’t like watching people die *Incredible*. So he opens up a portal to Hell and unleashes hoards of monsters on the city until she gives him what he wants. Ayumu shows up to kick his ass and with his defeat Eu gives him what he wants and kills him. Also, Haruna has a secret crush on Ayumu. What’s my score ladies? *Chibi Isis holds up a 10 while the others hold up a 9* Critics. After the success of the first season a second season was announced 2 months after the first season ended and aired in the spring of 2012 welcoming back the loving cast along with a few new characters, jokes, and foes for them to face. Does the second season live up or surpass the first season? Let’s dive back into the crazy life of Ayumu and take a look at Is this a zombie? of the dead. Also, I’m still looking at the English version for this series.

Opening and Ending Theme

The opening for this anime is “***Passionate” by Iori Nomizu. Unlike the first opening which started with a slow rock beat and worked its way to a quick rock beat this song starts off with a quick rock beat and continues it all through the opening. The only downside is the singer is singing the song a bit too peacefully. She begins to pick up the intensity as the song nears the end but I was hoping to feel that intensity from the beginning. Still, it’s a good song. Lyrics and singer are better but the 1st opening has the better instrumental. The ending for this anime is “Koi no Beginner Nan Desu” aka “I Am a Love Beginner” by Rie Yamaguchi. While I like the first ending more I will admit this ending is also very good. This ending gets rid of that addictive melody and Gameboy-like sounds in order to go for something that’s a little more peaceful but still upbeat and fun to listen to. This song does show off Rie’s range as an artist more and I like how the animation is a continuation from the animation in the first ending.

Episodes 0-3

We start off with a special episode called episode 0. This episode picks up where the last season left off, Ayumu and the others are enjoying the indoor water park and we get introduced to a new character named Shimoura voiced by Todd Haberkorn (Natsu from Fairy Tail). We really don’t know that much about him other than the fact that he’s a classmate and friend of Ayumu who’s considered the school playboy and is secretly a resident of the Underworld like Eu and seems to know a lot about her. We focus on Eu who wonders if Haruna likes her or not and wants to become friends with her (she came to save you last season of course she likes you). While she’s wondering that Haruna believes that the Loch Nest Monster is in the waterpark and drags Eu on her search for it (and the crazy shall lead the normal). Ayumu tries to stop Haruna’s insane rampage but Sera, Yuki, and Taeko use their feminine charm (and by charm I mean breast) to distract Ayumu (must. . .save. . .necromancer. Oh look boobs). After Ayumu accidently pulls off Sera’s top (oh yeah it was an accident) she beats him up and puts him in Loch Nest Monster outfit for Haruna to capture and we find out that the reason Haruna was on this crazy hunt in the first place was because she wanted to play with Eu and become friends with her as well. In the second part of the episode it’s Eu’s birthday and the gang is throwing a surprise birthday party for Eu at Ayumu’s house. When Ayumu and Eu return to the house after grocery shopping they see that Haruna has redecorated the place (scene here: //youtu.be/ToBVAGxgQRs, wow it’s like that movie Cube minus the horror and gore and plus the comedy and slapstick. Also big time laughs at Eu choosing Orito’s gift as the best). Orito ask how old Eu is (Orito, nooooo~) and she uses her powers to put everyone to sleep (never ask for a woman’s age).

In episode one we mostly just focus on Ayumu in school. One day while recovery in the nurse’s office he wakes up to see a pinked-hair girl dressed in white and drunk off her ass looking for alcohol (no, I’m cutting you off) before she runs off. Ayumu tells the others but they believe it’s just a figment of his perverted imagination (to their credit he does have a pretty wild imagination) but the day when he’s about to leave school he hears a noise coming from the science room and goes to investigate (scene here: //youtu.be/gocS2xzmMdo, she pukes rainbows? This must be where LJN comes from). Feeling good that he’s found a new friend the next day in class he receives some bad news. It turns out someone caught a picture of Ayumu in his magical garnet girl outfit at the cemetery and sold it to a magazine. Luckily the picture doesn’t show his face but everyone in class sees the picture and starts to become suspicious of Ayumu (scene here: //youtu.be/CgL5EYyV2Kw). Feeling scared about his secret getting exposed he runs to the nurse’s office hoping to find Chris (yes, that’s her name) but instead gets his butt grabbed (bad touch) by a megalo squid (okay I’m convince all the megalos are perverts). Haruna shows up thinking her powers have returned but they still haven’t so Ayumu pushes the squid on to the school field where everyone is at strangely even though they were in the classroom earlier (scene here: //youtu.be/SAdaV7OlMWs). After the monster is defeated Ayumu tries to erase the minds of everyone but Mystletainn got damage in the fight with the megalo and cracks on Ayumu meaning he can’t erase everyone’s memories (in other words he’s screwed) and to make matters worse after Mystletainn breaks Ayumu clothes disappear and he appears naked in front of everyone (//youtu.be/Vau2hG22DoQ, royally).

So in episode 2 Ayumu’s secret is exposed to the world and he along with his ass become a global hit (scene here://youtu.be/Zf9Ja3Z7JgM, what is this woman’s obsession with that boy’s ass?). Not being able to take it he goes to Chris for advice (scene here: //youtu.be/7N-_fo_j2gA?t=18s, note to self, never ask a drunk person for advice). Yuki invites him to the mountains for a bit of stargazing to take his mind off of this craziness and get closer to him (no one can hear you do it in the mountains). He goes to meet up with Yuki with the other girls tagging along (oh orgy in the mountains, now they will hear you) and as they climb the mountain we get hands down the funniest scene in the entire anime (//youtu.be/kop2iLWsQz0, *laughs uncontrollably* oh my God that is hilarious let me see the bear scene again, //youtu.be/bbM5sjG0_yo, *laughs* this is hands down one of the funniest anime scenes I have ever seen. All I gotta say is this: //youtu.be/kONmDCla6Nc). They all meet back up and reach the top of the mountain to see the stars and I have to admit it’s a pretty nice scene of them gazing into the sky and looking at all the shooting stars (in the back of my mind Fireflies from Owl City is playing throughout the scene. Yeah I like that song deal with it). Ayumu returns to school ready to face whatever challenges await him with his head high (but his spirit still in shame). Orito keeps his distance from Ayumu because he needs time to sort this whole situation out (can you blame him, he just found out his best friend was a crossdresser. Once you find out about that your friendship will never be the same) and Sarasvati finally confesses her love to Ayumu for his ass.

Episode 3 starts off with Sera wanting to know why the hell her superior Sarasvati has fallen in love with the maggot she knows as Ayumu (someone’s jealous. Scene here: //youtu.be/Awq50MsYeBU). Haruna decides to take a shot at fixing Mystlestainn and she gets Eu to help her (wait a minute I just realized something. Couldn’t Eu just use her powers to repair it? I mean she can kill people just by saying die so who’s to say that her powers can’t fix the chainsaw by just saying fix?). The next morning comes and it appears that Haruna fixed it so Ayumu tries to use it and the expected happens (scene here://youtu.be/MsVnIKkNjQQ, all this all because one loose screw). In the second half Sarasvati is performing a concert and Yuki is one of her backup dancers. The problem is Yuki can’t dance and if she doesn’t shape up Sarasvati is going to ship her back to the village. So she gets Haruna to help her dance and that road just leads to pain not just for Ayumu but for everyone in the surrounding area (scene here: //youtu.be/beKmy5a0g5Y and because I wanna have some fun let’s look at the English version and see which dance scene is funnier. Scene here: //youtu.be/Z75492bvdSA. Alright in terms of rap I think English is better but for the actual scene I think Japanese is better). After this Ayumu gives them strict dance training and when the day of the concert finally arrives they put their skills to use and dance the night away making the performance a hit. Oh who am I kidding this is a comedy anime nothing goes right. They go out on stage forget everything Ayumu taught them and just do the curse dance (screw the dance we know how to curse. Scene here: //youtu.be/Uj1CF12YxoI?t=1m13s, if there was any upside to this is that Sarasvati got to see Ayumu’s butt again).

Episodes 4-7

Hoping to get Ayumu out of his crossdressing phase, in episode 4 (which is probably my favorite episode in the series so far) Orito takes Ayumu to a cosplay café. Not just any cosplay café but a tsundere café where the maids act all tsun with the customers and guess what, everybody loves it (Japan has a lot of masochist doesn’t it? Scene here://youtu.be/U01D6uehXZU, I’m seeing the tsun but I’m not seeing the dere. I’m also feeling that someone’s butt is in danger). After eating Orito and Ayumu decide to do the café challenge which is getting 5 maids to be all dere for you. If they succeed their meal is free but if they fail not only will they have to pay double but Ayumu has to pay Sarasvati with his ass (//youtu.be/6nSKkwzwdW4?t=3s). The challenge begins with maid number 1 Yuki who in all honesty has no idea what the hell she’s doing (how do you not know how to act tsundere. Scene here: //youtu.be/zjWfPyzjszU?t=1m33s, I knew she liked the cowgirl position). The next two challengers are Haruna and Sera (scene here: //youtu.be/AVaulI9djFk?t=5s, well played Ayumu). The fourth maid is (you guessed it) Eu who loses to Ayumu somehow (//youtu.be/hGLc_pwLKLA, I don’t get it either) and the final opponent is not Sarasvati but instead Kanami, Taeko and Yuki’s best friend who has no relationship to Ayumu outside of just being his classmate and has no feelings for him whatsoever (//youtu.be/Vau2hG22DoQ). But hope comes in the form of Orito who does the unthinkable (scene here: //youtu.be/DXEW-l-RJJU, big time balls on Orito for confessing like that. Still, don’t go all in like that man). With Kanami’s lost the boys win and get their meal free.

Not much happens in episode 5. Sera goes back to her village for a meeting and Eu gets sick leaving Ayumu and Haruna to take care of her and hilarity ensues (scene here: //youtu.be/0sdz0gKaD_U). Worried about Eu’s condition Ayumu calls Shimoura to see if he can offer any advice and he decides to play with Ayumu (scene here: //youtu.be/PjRKHzGTBiQ, okay I take back what I said earlier this is the funniest scene in the anime. The bear scene is still funny as hell but nothing beats Ayumu’s dancing). The next day Shimoura comes to visit and it gets revealed that the reason Eu got sick is because she ate too much tangerine pitch which is quite poisonous to people of the underworld (so fruit is their weakness. This is almost as ridiculous as a bunch of aliens being stopped by a pantry wooden door). They resort to a bunch of bizarre remedies which make her better and in the process of it all Haruna also comes down with the flu because she’s been working hard and we end on a funny note with Sera returning (//youtu.be/yfhbCGT92jM, beware the power of the elder vampire sister).

In episode 6 the school is having a festival and Ayumu’s class is doing a haunted café (how fitting for the zombie boy) with Haruna helping out. While this is all going on Ayumu meets a doctor on the road to school who keeps constantly throwing up blood (scene here: //youtu.be/huwpas-z_Do, now if I was in Ayumu’s shoes I would have toss that ring into the river because I don’t trust the blood spewing doctor). After school Ayumu returns home to see an old friend has return (scene here://youtu.be/IvtAmeVxlI4) and with this old friend returning he erases the minds of everyone in the world so that they forget that he’s a magical garnet girl (and with that his honor has returned). He goes to school the next day feeling good about himself now that his life is back to normal but life just likes to kick him in the ass all the time (scene here: //youtu.be/5m1gaDUOky4?t=33s, Ayumu the zombie force to cross-dress for all eternity). At the festival Haruna and Yuki are trying to sell their CD (what’s in CD you ask? Why this of course: //youtu.be/Krt3srsKMzs, so this is the newest weapon of mass destruction). Yuki pulls Ayumu to the side because she received a message from some guy who wants to confess to her and she’s scared to go meet him alone. They arrive at the spot where Yuki gets knocked out resulting in that fire spirit monster (seriously what the hell is that thing?) who’s about to self-destruct and take Yuki with him. The blood-vomiting man shows up and tells Ayumu to put the ring on Yuki which will suppress her powers and does that resulting in a big misunderstanding going on between Ayumu and Yuki (scene here: //youtu.be/jvr-r2R1FYY). Haruna goes to Ayumu to tell them they got megalos in the school so Ayumu along with Haruna who can now transform thanks to an amulet she created that allows her to absorb Eu’s mana take down the megalos. But something weird starts to happen with Haruna.

We find out in episode 7 that by absorbing Eu’s mana Haruna now experiences the same pain Eu feels and can’t talk anymore or she’ll experience massive pain. After that Haruna tells Ayumu that she’s going back to his school to investigate the area saying there’s a powerful being on school grounds. The second day of the school festival starts with Yuki coming to see Ayumu and showing off her ring (scene here: //youtu.be/ovYERnU9eVM, you know Ayumu’s fantasy about Haruna isn’t far from the truth). The homeroom teacher eventually confiscates the ring since students can’t wear jewelry (not even females? What an odd school) and that night at the closing bonfire the teacher reveals himself to be Chris who is actually a magical garnet girl and the master of Dai-Sensei (Dai had a drunk as a teacher). We find out that in the past she broke the law and instead of being killed she was sentenced to living out her life as a middle-age school teacher with the only way to turn back to normal is to get drunk off her ass (quite the humorous punishment if you ask me). But now with Haruna’s mana absorption device and Yuki’s ring she can now keep her normal form while staying sober (she’s still going to drink though isn’t she?). She decides to celebrate her coming out by forcing all the students into seats and launching them sky high (scene here: //youtu.be/y0gQskzcm2E). Ayumu has enough and decides to fight Chris one on one where she beats him in like 5 seconds flat (never stood a chance).

Episode 8-10 and OVA

In episode 8 Ayumu contacts Dai-Sensei hoping she might know of a way to beat Chris but she tells him that not even she would a stand a chance at beating Chris (they’re going about this the wrong way. This whole situation can be resolved with one person. . . //youtu.be/pcxthg885ZY). Dai-Sensei tells him that Kyoko knows Chris’ weakness and offers to send her to Ayumu (sure let’s bring back the psychotic girl responsible for killing you on several occasions). At first he’s hesitant but after thinking it over he says to go ahead and just like that she appears right behind him where we see that she’s even more crazy and has a habit of switching between normal horny girl to full on sociopath that needs to be arrested (scene here: //youtu.be/UnOOOc84_T4, Jesus lady choose a side already either be yandere or horny you can’t have it both ways). Kyoko tells Ayumu she’ll tell him Chris’ weakness if Ayumu arranges a group blind date which is really just her excuse to watch him suffer because she still holds a grudge against him (you hold a grudge against him? I’m sorry but aren’t you the sociopathic bitch who killed him in the first place and turned his life upside down? If anybody has the right to a grudge it’s the zombie boy over there). He manages to get Orito, Taeko, Kanami, Shimoura and Yuki to attend the group date and the masked workers from McDonald’s show up to join the party (//timelessobserver.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/kore-wa-zombie-desu-ka-of-the-dead8-21.jpg, you try saying no to them). They decide to play the King’s Game (well nothing good ever comes from this game) and we get a funny situation involving Kyoko and Ayumu (scene here: //youtu.be/iXW_ciAbAhc, woah never peg Dai-sensei for a cockblocker). After that Ayumu takes Kyoko out to the graveyard where they fought (yeah taking her to the spot of her greatest defeat. . .not the best idea in the world) where he tells Kyoko to do whatever she wants to him and have her fun. She stabs him with a sword and just confesses that she loves him (did we skip a scene?) and that in truth she really did had fun at the group date and is sad that once she leaves everyone will forget her (a punishment befitting a sociopath). But Ayumu assures her he’ll never forget her (obviously she’s the reason you got turn into a zombie. Really hard to forget someone like that) and she leaves going back to prison with a smile on her face. The next day Ayumu receives a letter from Kyoko telling him what Chris’ weakness is. . . she’s ticklish under the ribs (of course! Why didn’t I think of this sooner? The answer was so obvious. Thanks Kyoko).

Finding Kyoko’s information useless (useless!? Dude with that information I could bring down the Kodak Company again) he goes back to Dai and finds out that there is an underworld warrior who has beaten Chris many times in the past. This warrior’s name is Nargleria an old friend of Eu who used to serve under her when she still had her voice in fact Nargleria is the one responsible for creating the armor that keeps Eu’s magic in check. As Ayumu goes to visit her he receives a concert ticket from Sarasvati who’s holding another concert and wants him to be there which he promises he’ll do. He arrives at Nargleria’s house where we see that she’s a hot manga artist (and her boobs are bigger than Sera’s). Ayumu ask her for help against Chris but she refuses saying that if she and Chris were to fight than it would result in an all-out war between the underworld and the magical garnet girls. That’s right folks, it turns out that there’s a long standing war going on between the underworld and the magical garnent girls for quite some time. While both sides are in a ceasefire it’s only due to the fact that Nargleria and Chris are considered the strongest of their respected races and inactive right now so as long as the two don’t find a reason to fight each other the world’s at peace. Anyway, Nargleria asks Ayumu to help her finish her manuscript before her deadline which is the next day (sadly this is no different than what a lot of manga artist struggle with almost every week) and he calls in the help of Haruna who sees a misunderstanding and tells the others resulting in an act of jealousy on their part (scene here://youtu.be/IiJPLaiPUkg, he just can’t catch a break can he). They all decide to help out where we see Nargleria’s manga is actually a “what if” story about Eu where she never lost her voice, no one died in the war, and they all lived happily ever after (is her publisher Disney or something? This whole story sounds old school Disney). After messing up and having to redraw the whole manuscript from scratch they work all night and day without rest forcing Ayumu to skip Sarasvati’s concert until Nargleria notices that Ayumu had another engagement to be at (woman’s intuition) and lets him go (I really do like this scene, it shows that Ayumu really does care and think about the women in his life and takes his promises with them seriously. Even though he falls into that typical dense main character you see in harem animes I do feel that this is a character who will try his best to meet and understand the feelings of those around him). After the concert Ayumu apologizes for missing the concert and we get a rather cute scene of the two grabbing a drink and Sarasvati taking an indirect kiss from Ayumu by drinking some of his canned coffee.

In episode 10 Dai-sensei becomes Ayumu’s new teacher for school and she test his skills and if he fails all of his memories will be erased. His test comes in the form of Haruna teaching a home economics class where she’s teaches the class how to make her famous egg rolls where it all goes wrong (scene here: //youtu.be/gLoJmC6Bysg, what kind of slime dissolves clothes but not underwear? This slime fails on every level). Ayumu takes on the slime where he and Haruna get trapped in it and Dai-sensei has seen enough and destroys the slime seeing this as Ayumu failing his test and erases his memories. They return home where Ayumu doesn’t remember who everybody is and Haruna begs Dai-sensei to give them another chance and she accepts. She allows the three to dive into Ayumu’s mind (if you see a lot of Eu fantasies don’t be surprised) where they find the core of his memories but in order to free them they have to take on the incarnations of Ayumu’s 7 deadly sins (scene here://youtu.be/9ZGV5TohTr0, okay wow it’s like a parade of douchebags). Haruna beats all of them single-handedly and they go into the core where there’s one more Ayumu inside an Ayumu named Belphegor who represents Ayumu’s sloth. He berates the girls saying that this is his true character but the girls don’t believe him so he takes over Ayumu’s body, changes into his school clothes while leaving his shirt completely unbutton while wearing a cross (my God I wanna punch him. This is like asshole central right here) and Dai-sensei just lets him go to school without trying to stop him (okay I’ve said it before but Dai-sensei is kind of a jerk. I mean she just sits there and let’s this new breed of assholery loose in the world). He goes to school where his classmates notice he’s acting weirder than usual (and that’s a pretty big understatement) and Haruna and the others come in saying they want their Ayumu back and Eu is prepared to fight him (scenes here: //youtu.be/_d5HbxFQUdE and//youtu.be/oIPdkxgDuas, good soundtrack but a not so good fight scene. I mean come on its Eu, she’s overflowing with magic and last season she killed Kyoko by just saying die. This battle should be on grander scale than what they are doing here). After stabbing him in the chest Eu shows Ayumu the notes she had prepared for him and this allows the real Ayumu to slowly come back. With the help of Haruna (come on Sera get in there too you know you love him) the two are able to bring back the real Ayumu restoring his memories (and curing him of his asshole personality). We end the season with a little girl holding a doll and taking an interest in Ayumu, Nargleria and Chris grabbing a drink together and saying they both have an interest in Ayumu, and we end with Ayumu and the others at home.

There is an OVA that came out once the second season ended. In the first half Orito challenges Haruna at a flea market sell where Orito sells porn magazines (I’m not surprise) and Haruna just sells random stuff. With the help of Taeko, Yuki, Hanami, everyone else and a blouse that belonged to Sera, Haruna is able to beat Orito and make a huge profit. In the second half Haruna accidently sold her philosopher stone to someone at the flea market which is bad because if the stone is out for too long it’ll start to go berserk and create creatures like that slime from the last episode (and this is bad how again). After Ayumu accidently drinks an invisible potion (wow I didn’t think they could add anymore titles to his character) and Eu figuring out that the stone is in the possession of one of the girls from school, Ayumu sneaks into the girl’s physical examination and examines the breast (I mean necks) of girls to see if they have the stone. Eventually the potion begins to wear off and he gets stuck in the gym with no clothes and the girls are still doing their physicals (zombie, magical garnet girl, invisible man, and now pervert. The rep sheet for Ayumu just keeps building up). Luckily, Taeko finds him and after he tells her what he’s looking for she decides to believe him and gives him some clothes to put on (that girl is very trusting or her love for Ayumu has made her delusional beyond reason) and it turns out she was the one with the stone this whole time. He goes back home with the stone only to find out that the stone he has wasn’t the philosopher’s stone after all it was just a regular stone. The episode ends with Ayumu drinking another potion and gaining the ability to see through clothes (scene here: //youtu.be/1F5frX0xNaY, add x-ray vision to the list).

Final Thoughts

This season was funny as hell. The season starts off with getting you to laugh and never stopping. From the first episode to the last episode you will find yourself laughing nonstop. This season is that funny. However, the season is plotless. The story doesn’t advance at all this season, everyone remains the same and that’s where this season fails big time. I wanted to see what was next for the group, explore more of their characters, and relationships with each other but we don’t get that this season. The two characters that did manage to standout this time was Orito who I forgot to mention is freakin’ hilarious like almost every scene he’s in is guaranteed to make you laugh. I like how they used him more this season he’s honestly the funniest character in the show in my opinion. Anthony Bowling just does an incredible job at making Orito sound hilarious with his English dialogue. The other character to stand out was Sarasvati, she was clearly the best female this season standing out and actually going after Ayumu instead of just waiting for him to come to her. While her fetish is weird beyond belief I do like how she’s actually being aggressive and going after him and she’s starting to warm-up to his personality. Chris is also funny in the fact that she’s a drunk and probably the strongest being in the series so far but at the same time you feel as if she’s not gonna do anything evil and instead just wants to be free and have a good time. The animation and music remain the same so no major changes there, the action takes a huge downfall this season but as I said before they make up for it by getting you to laugh nonstop throughout the season.

Is it better than the first season

I’m gonna have to say yes and no. In terms of comedy yes, the second season is a lot funnier than the first season and will have you laughing in each episode. In terms of plot no, the second season is plotless and goes nowhere adding nothing new or developing characters and relationships which as I expressed before is really a shame because one of the best points of this series is the characters and their relationships with each other and to actually not see them develop more in the series is a disappointment. In the end it all comes down to personal preference, do you like something that’s only comedy driven ignoring character development and just making you laugh or do you prefer an anime that’s more balance out where you get character development as well as comedy. Neither choice is right or wrong, it’s just a matter of what you prefer in anime.

Final Score

The second of Is this a zombie earns a 6.5/10. It’s still a good season despite its shortcomings and if you liked the first season the second one is a good watch as well. If you’re looking for a good plot to the series the first season is for you but if your looking for a good laugh the second season is definitely for you and I hope that when the 3rd season comes around we get a good mixture of plot and comedy. Thanks for reading, I’ll see you next time on Project Nitsuj where I review the main event for Ani-ween MUHAHAHAHAHA- *doorbell rings* excuse me. *Goes to answer door* Yes? Mike Tyson!? What are you doing here? (Mike Tyson): Hi are Nitsuj? (Nitsuj): Uh yes. (Mike Tyson): Good *Mike Tyson throws a right hand at Nitsuj and knocks him out completely. Nitsuj falls to the ground unconscious*. Tell your AI girls to stop prank calling my house or else *Mike Tyson leaves*. (Nitsuj): *In his mind* Dear diary, today I did a review and got knocked out by Mike Tyson.

*Meanwhile, in another part of the city a young couple is exiting the movies at night.*

(Girl): That was a great movie wasn’t it?

(Boy): Yeah. My favorite is when we made out. Care to play that scene out again?

*the boy hugs the girl from behind*

(Girl): Oh cut it out.

*Suddenly they hear a noise coming from the bushes*

(Girl): What was that?

*The couple gazes at the bushes and see the eyes of an animal*

(Boy): It’s a dog. Poor fella’s probably lost and scared.

(Girl): Aww~, I feel so bad for it. Come here boy we’ll take you home.

*As the girl calls for the dog it jumps out to reveal itself to be a large shadowy creature who attacks the boy by biting him. Once the girl sees this she screams in terror and tries to run away but the creature pounces on her and bites her. After a few seconds go by the girl and boy begin to change and turn into the different versions of the shadowy creature.*

(???): Excellent. Now follow me, we have work to do.

To be revealed October 31st
