Hello. Nitsuj here and welcome to the side blog the blogs between the blogs. With spring just around corner that means it’s time once again for First Impressions where we take a look at the anime set to come out next season and give my initial thoughts on them. The winter season for the most part has been rather slow for me personally. Aside from Attack on Titan, Kimestu no Yaiba, Realistic Hero, World’s End Harem, and surprisingly My Dress Up Darling there weren’t that many animes that really caught my attention. If anything this season has been a mini-vacation and has given me time to relax after work and focus on games and other projects I’ve been working on in my spare time. So as you can imagine I’m kinda split on how I want the spring season to pan out. I love watching anime, but at the same time I don’t want to get too overwhelmed by it. Like they say, too much of a good thing is bad for you. Well enough rambling. It’s time for Spring Anime 2022 First Impressions.
The Rising of The Shield Hero S2
So we kick the season off on the right foot with the return of the Shield Hero. It was talked about last year that Shield Hero was returning for the spring and I am excited. I’ve been reading the manga and light novel so this season should be great. Watch it.
Kaguya-sama: Love is War S3
Speaking of returns, we also get the return of Kaguya-sama where I have the feeling that one of them is going to confess this season. Watching it.
Spy x Family
Here’s an anime I’m excited to see. It focuses on a spy who is sent to a neighboring country to spy on their leader. Joining him is a girl who can read minds and a woman is a trained assassin. They keep these facts hidden from each other all while living together. Watching it.
Date A Live S4
The fourth season of Date A Live. Originally meant to come out last year but was pushed back due to issues. Here’s hoping those issues have been fixed. Watching it.
Komi-san wa, Komyushou desu S2
The second season of the popular Komi-san can’t communicate anime. A fan favorite from last year. Even though I didn’t really get into this anime I do admit it was funny from the clips I saw online. Not watching but hoping for the best.
Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san
Focuses on a boy named Izumi who is dating his classmate Shikimori. She’s a great and loving girlfriend, but whenever Izumi finds himself in danger she transforms into the super cool heartthrob girlfriend that makes everyone scream. I might watch this.
Kakkou no Iinazuke
Due to a mix up at the hospital, Nagi was given to the wrong family as a baby. Years later he’s going to meet his biological family where on the day of the meeting he pretends to be the boyfriend of a girl named Amano to avoid marrying a fiancé her parents setup for her. However, it backfires, as it turns out they were the two babies that got mixed up and Nagi was the fiancé Amano’s parents set up for her. The two start living together, but both agree they’re not in love with each other and decide to focus on their own goals while avoiding the other. I’ll check out the first episode.
Aharen-san wa Hakarenai
A comedy about two students closing the gap between them. Not interested.
Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita S2
Oh hey, I forgot about this anime. It’s the second season of the comedy anime that tries to scientifically prove what is love. I might watch this.
Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen 3
Third season of Honzuki. Not watching.
Yuusha, Yamemasu
A hero who once saved the world can’t seem to fit in once the world is at peace. Wanting a job, he goes to work for the demon king’s army which he defeated and helps them rebuild. Watching it.
Summer Time Render
An action thriller where a boy returns to his home island after an incident and finds something sinister awaiting his return. This sounds interesting. I’m gonna check out the first episode and see where it goes.
Machikado Mazoku: 2-Choume
Second season. Not interested.
Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu
A gamer finds himself inside his favorite game where his avatar is a skeleton. He soon goes off on a journey with a female elf. I will check it out.
Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou, Murabito A ni Tensei suru
A demon lord bored with life reincarnates himself and calibrates his magic to make himself average. Once he’s reincarnated he sees that the world has only gotten weaker and once again he is OP when compared to everyone else. On the fence about this one.
Otomege Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu
Leon, an office worker, gets reincarnated into his dating sim game where women rule and only beautiful men get rights. Having complete knowledge about the game, Leon sparks a revolution to change the world and live the life he’s always wanted. This sounds good. Watching it.
Tomodachi Game
Here’s a good mystery thriller. Yuuichi and his friends get dragged into a debt repayment game that will put their friendship to the test. I’m checking this out.
Aoashi
A soccer anime. Not watching.
Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de
The leader of a Power Ranger-like team is secretly dating a villain. I might watch this.
Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai 2
Second season of the new Date A Live series. Not interested.
Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road
This is a tough one to sum so here’s the description: The Lost Ones are wanderers who come here from a distant world known as “Japan.” No one knows how or why they leave their homes. The only thing that is certain is that they bring disaster and calamity. The duty of exterminating them without remorse falls to Menou, a young Executioner. When she meets Akari, it seems like just another job…until she discovers it’s impossible to kill this girl! And when Menou begins to search for a way to defeat this immortality, Akari is more than happy to tag along! So begins a journey that will change Menou forever. I’ll check it out.
Mahoutsukai Reimeiki
A boy with amnesia at a magic academy gets tasked to spread the use of magic in an area where they hold witch hunts. This anime is a sequel to Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho another anime from some years ago that not too many people remember. Good thing you’ve got me to review it for you. As for this anime I might check it out.
Dance Dance Danseur
An anime about dancing. Not interested.
Heroine Tarumono!: Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto
The daily life of a girl who becomes the manager of a boy group. I think? Either way not watching.
Black★★Rock Shooter: DAWN FALL
A new Black Rock Shooter anime. I might check it out.
Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi
A young kunoichi born in a village of all females is curious about men even though it’s forbidden to interact with them. Watching it.
Love All Play
Badminton anime. Not watching.
Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden Final SEASON – Asaki Yume no Akatsuki
The final season to Magia Record. I try watching the first but couldn’t get into it so skipping this anime.
Kono Healer, Mendokusai
A fantasy comedy about an elf cleric who spent all of her points in insulting people and a knight who has to work with her. I might watch it.
Gunjou no Fanfare
Boys wanting to become jockeys. Not interested.
Kingdom 4
Fourth season of Kingdom. Not watching.
Paripi Koumei
Who knew the people for the Three Kingdoms could party. I might check it out just to get a laugh.
Build Divide: Code White
Second season. Pass.
Deaimon
A boy eager to take over his family’s shop returns home after 10 years only to get asked to be the father figure for a young girl who everyone says is the real successor. Not watching.
BIRDIE WING: Golf Girls’ Story
Cute girls and golf. Pass.
Shachiku-san wa Youjo Yuurei ni Iyasaretai
A corporate woman befriends a ghost girl. Pass.
RPG Fudousan
Real estate in a fantasy world setting. Not interested.
Shin Ikkitousen
What the hell is this!? You mean to tell me someone revived this shit!? Ahhhh~!
Healer Girl
Girls who heal people through singing. Not interested.
Kyoukai Senki Part 2
Second season of the mecha series. Not interested.
Onipan!
Oni girls become human in order to mend relationship between onis and humans. Pass.
Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Go Rush!!
The eighth series in the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. Not watching.
Estab-Life: Great Escape
With Earth’s population in decline, AI was developed to preserve and manage the ecosystem. Through genetic engineering, beastfolk, magical beings, and more were created to live in a diverse city separated into walled “clusters” each with their own unique culture and all maintained by the AI. I might watch this.
Shadowverse F (Flame)
No information on this one. Not interested.
Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori 3rd Season
Third season of this kid friendly series. Pass.
Final Thoughts
Well it looks like my spring is going to be somewhat busy. I’m excited for the return of Shield Hero, looking forward to Spy x Family, and the two thriller animes. Overall, looks like the spring lineup is good as we’re getting a good mixture of comedy, action, and thrills to keep us entertained.
