Project #31: R-15

Hello and welcome to Project Nitsuj. Well, last week I talked about Senran Kagura not being that great of an ecchi and made the promise that I would show you what a real ecchi anime is like and I can safely say I have come deliver. Ecchi anime has always been look down upon by some anime viewers which is understandable but at the same time odd considering its the most widely watched genre in the medium. Why can’t people see that sex is an art form and we as humans shouldn’t be disgusted by the naked human body but instead embrace and admire its beauty. This is where R-15 comes in. R-15 is an anime based off a light novel written by Hiroyuki Fushimi in 2009 and finishing in 2012 with a manga release that started in 2010 and also finished in 2012 months before the novel and anime debuted in the summer of 2011. The story centers around a high school boy who goes to an academy full of geniuses where he’s a genius at writing novels that people are disgusted by. What does he write you ask, we’ll you see in a minute. Let’s take a look at this ecchi anime and see a true ecchi anime at work, this is R-15.

Opening and Ending Theme

The opening for this anime is “Maji Yaba Mōsō LOVE” sung by R-15 who I assume are the voice actors of the main heroines in this anime. I have to admit I actually do like the song, it’s quite catchy, the singers are good, it fits with the anime well, and it’s got that school comedy feel to it. The ending for this anime is “HIRAMEKI! Peace” sung once again by R-15. This song is also good and catchy to listen to like the opening but chances are you’ll be too busy enjoying the chibi characters dancing at the bottom of the screen to pay attention to song. I love the dance those characters are doing it’s one of the cutest endings I’ve ever seen in an anime I’m not gonna lie.

Episodes 1-4

We kick off this anime with. . . a girl student lifting up her skirt, unbuttoning her shirt and putting her hands on the window with her butt sticking out as if to say pound me like there’s no tomorrow to her male teacher (am I watching the right anime? I know the anime is ecchi but this is borderline hentai territory. *Smiles* continue). It turns out that scene was just a dream dreamt up by our main character who is sleeping in the middle of class Taketo a genius writer who goes the genius simply known as Inspiration Academy (yeah, nice name for an academy, I’m really inspired right now). He’s voiced by Aya Gōda. After waking up from his dream he gives us exposition into he’s genius at writing novels. What novels, porn novels. That’s right; Taketo is a genius at writing the most seductive, sexual, and arousing porn novels in the world but because of this, girls despised him and called him a disgusting pervert for it (oh sure, when a middle boy writes an erotic tale he’s considered a pervert but when a man writes 50 Shades of Grey he’s considered a genius and awarded a best-seller award. Fuck society and its double standards). But surprisingly Taketo doesn’t see his writing as anything wrong, he believes that society has blinded itself with morality and disgust saying that sex is the core of human existence and that his goal is to the change the world with his writing and live the glamorous life with a harem of girls (ha! You poor delusional bastard). After getting some more exposition about the academy we cut to the cafeteria where we some more geniuses. First up is Ritsu voiced by Madoka Murakami, a genius of mathematician who is Taketo’s best friend and one of the only people in the academy who tries to defend Taketo’s writing. It’s also hinted that he’s gay, they never come out and say it but they drop subtle hints that he’s possibly gay seeing how he gets easily aroused when Taketo talks innocently during conversations. Also, a bit of trivia for you guys, Ritsu is actually the Japanese word for π and he calms himself down by reciting the formula for π. How weird is that? Calming yourself down by repeating your own name. We also meet Ran genius computer programmer who can hack into anything, resident bitch who looks down on Taketo the most out of all the students and is a certified lesbian who likes girls to call her Onee-chan. She’s voiced by Kayoko Tsumita. When she calls Taketo a pig for staring at her and some other classmates Ritsu gets into an argument with her when the two are interrupted by. . .0_0 holy shit that is one fine woman! The two are interrupted by Kurumi the chief of the newspaper circle that Taketo writes articles for and is considered one of the smartest students in the academy. We don’t know much about her but everywhere she goes she’s only accompany by these 2 bodyguards (probably to keep the boys from motor boating those weapons of mass seduction she’s walking with). She’s voiced by Yui Ariga. She gives Taketo an assignment to go and interview some popular first year students for the school paper (I got a front page article for you write here baby, it involves you, me, and the cafeteria table more at 6). The first student he’s tasked with interviewing is a girl named Fukune a clarinet genius who both Taketo and Ran secretly have a crush on and is sadly a naïve and shy girl. Taketo’s a little hesitant since in past he accidentally gnawed on the reed of her clarinet and caused a misunderstanding with her which he’s hasn’t been able to fix yet. As he’s looking for her he’s joined by Raika a genius photographer who enjoys taking pictures of people at their most disgusting and lustful moments (she would be a good fit at TMZ). She’s voiced by Mana Komatsu; does anybody else find it ironic that all of the characters are voiced by girls including the male characters? He finds Fukune voiced by Yurina Fukuhara, sleeping on a bench after practicing (well, she’s just asking for it isn’t she) where a rocket comes flying towards her but Taketo gets in the way of the rocket and takes the hit for her (https://youtu.be/7tClSJgMDF8). No just kidding he survives (he’s an anime character nothing kills him. He’s like Wile Coyote, roll with it) but he lands on top of her (godlike falling at work here) and has a bloody nose which gives her the wrong idea and she runs away terrified (don’t worry, that’s normal for first timers). He goes back to his dorm room where he writes a wild fantasy about Fukune being a magic girl who wants to blow your clarinet nonstop (yeah, I forgot to mention, Taketo will just go spontaneously into modes of eroticism where he’ll have erotic fantasies and write them down. It’s quite funny). Kurumi breaks into his room (best home invasion I’ve seen yet) where she finds out Taketo hasn’t finish writing the article on Fukune and punishes him bondage style.

In episode 2 we start off with another one of Taketo’s wild fantasies where he’s at a concert watching an idol perform while stripping herself naked, I can only imagine the kind of dialogue he’s writing in his head (As I watched her strip in front of me I could tell that she was excited and turn on by all the gazes of her fans. Their eyes sexually assaulting her as she begged for more, I knew right then and there that this is what she wanted. She wasn’t the only one). He wakes up from the dream thanks to Reika and we the star of this episode Utae, a genius pop idol voiced by Nanami Kashiyama (exactly how does someone become a genius pop idol? Is she just that good at singing or something). The next day Taketo goes to interview her where it slips that he’s a porn writer and she’s okay with that (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH6Acpzurb0), yeah, she totally gets it and understands that the work Taketo does is very difficult, what an open-minded girl I wish more girls were like her (PRAISE TO GOD! For she is the chosen one). After the interview, Raika takes a few pictures and stops saying that she does want to photograph fakes (don’t you dare tell me that girl has a breast implants, or I will fight her in the streets).  After Raika leaves Utae opens up to Taketo saying that she wonders if this is “the real her”, is this really all she is, is she just going through life passing herself off as some company brand idol who doesn’t show true self to the fans (hmm~ now where have I seen this problem before PERSONA 4! Yeah, this is Persona 4; Utae’s problem is basically the same problem as Rise’s in Persona 4! And what’s even odder is that Utae is an idol as well! Why rip-off Persona 4, did they really think that one of the greatest RPGs of all time was low on the radar that fans wouldn’t make the connection? I’m surprise Atlus didn’t press charges). The next day, not wanting to see a pretty girl sad Taketo decides to track Utae down and help her. He searches throughout the school but can’t find her (check your TV at midnight on a raining night and see who shows up). With the help of Raika and Kurumi he finds her in the gym storage (interesting place to think considering that this is where a lot of people like to go to 2nd base at). He gets aroused sitting next to her and writes down one of his fantasies and tells Utae about it. in the fantasy he plays as a poet singing a song to Utae the songstress about how even though people don’t see her true form yet they will eventually see and be astonished by it (the way he says is a lot more symbolic and seductive then how I’m saying it). His story is so seductive and meaningful that causes Utae to strip right in front of him, achieve orgasm (I’m not bullshitting) and hug Taketo which causes him to get a nosebleed and faint (he just made a girl strip naked in front of him and made her have an orgasm just by telling her one of his erotic fantasies. He has achieved a new of badass). He wakes up to see a ticket to Utae’s next live performance where Raika notices that Utae has changed and is shining brighter than ever (Taketo has activated the Lover’s social link. He shall receive great blessing when he chooses to pursue a relationship with the Lover).

In episode 3 after Raika posts pictures of Taketo saving Fukune from episode 1 everybody thinks Taketo tried to rape her and even though he explains that he was only protecting her they still don’t believe him. But Ritsu is determined to prove Taketo’s innocence and launches an investigation to prove it. They go to the scientist who launched the rocket a small girl named Tsukuru a genius inventor who’s inventions always malfunction on her. Through the malfunction of her latest experiment Taketo and Fukune get their backs stuck to each other and are forced to spend the night with each other in Taketo’s room (so this is the hard place they were talking about in the old saying). Taketo seems to be scared and can’t relax seeing as he’s alone with a girl in his room (a normal reaction for an adolescent boy) while Fukune seems to okay with this (naturally, she is an airhead) and can’t seem to make the connection that Taketo’s a porn writer despite the obvious clues in his room (she’s also not the sharpest tool in the toolbox). Nothing all that exciting happens in the room except for Taketo’s fantasies we get to see of his teacher in a geisha dress asking for some and another character who will appear a few episodes later taking one for the team with a football player. The next day Tsukuru frees them but the device goes haywire again and starts to attract all things to it like swimsuits, cellphones, and girl’s underwear (you know, everyday stuff). Fukune’s clarinet also gets sucked into the huge ball of underwear and Taketo tries to save it but gets sucked in as well (you can buy a new clarinet, until then just practice with Taketo’s clarinet). As more underwear starts to cover him he slips into one of his fantasies about him being surrounded and groped by girls (Heaven. It was truly Heaven. That’s what I thought as I stayed smutched within the naked bodies of girls as they took turns smutching me one after another, their screams of ecstasy along with their faces of pleasure was then enough to get me off as well). This causes him to get a massive nosebleed (is he related to Muttsurinii from Baka and Test) which short-circuits the device and frees him (and once again the day was saved thanks to ero-power). After Taketo returns the clarinet Tsukuru shows footage of Taketo trying to save Fukune from the rocket which resolves the photo issue and the issues between Taketo and Fukune gets resolved as well and the two become friends.

Episode 4 starts off with Taketo receiving a love letter of a girl’s bear panties (Asuna?) and Raika being in a slump trying to take a good poster to inspire students to join the academy next year. She tries to take a disgusting picture of Taketo by having Tsukuru secretly follow him around with a wind machine that makes him think he has the divine wind power lifting up all the skirts of girls including Ran who’s panties reveal her to be a lesbian (a no offence anime but I think the viewers actually pieced that together after we met her). After it’s revealed that Raika’s behind this Taketo goes to confront her where she reveals that the bear panties are her’s, that she set him up to get a disgusting picture of him for the school poster (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65Hbl9J3zlM), and the reason she’s in a slump is because he hasn’t been acting much like a pervert as of lately (are we sure this girl’s a genius, she’s clearly crazy from my point of view?). She forces him to be her model and they try to take disgusting photos of him in the girls’ bathroom and girls’ locker room where she finally snaps and tries to get Taketo to rape her (okay there is something seriously wrong with this girl I swear). She looks at the mirrors and sees her own ugliness and thanks to another one of Taketo’s fantasies she’s able to come to terms with it, gets out of her slump and finishes the poster, and makes a hint that she likes Taketo by saying that make a good couple since they’re both disgusting people (no, Taketo is a misunderstood author whose brilliance cannot be understood by the masses, you are just a fucking lunatic passing yourself off as a genius).

Episodes 5-9

Episode 5 centers around Ran who wants to ask Fukune out on a date but she gets kidnapped by Botan a 3rd year student who is an art genius and an even crazier lesbian than Ran who wants to turn her into one of her masterpieces. Ran finds out where they’re hiding and she has a lesbian-off with Botan to see who gets Fukune (yeah because it’s not like she has a say in the matter, she’s just the prize). They have a wrestling watch where they each try to charm each other (and the audience in this scene is all female I guess the school has a lot of closet lesbians), Ran starts off good but Botan’s direct approach catches her off guard and ruins Ran’s approach which is follows a set pattern (kind of like Keima from TWGOK). As it seems that Ran is about to lose Taketo grabs the mic and dishes out another one of his famous erotic tales about Botan’s body being a canvas for her to paint of her masterpieces on and she begins to imagine molesting herself (. . .I am not making this up, this is literally what will see in the anime but let’s be honest you’ve seen weirder). This gives the Ran the opening she needs to set up a pattern and gives Botan an orgasm to win the match (winner via orgasm, Ran). At the end Ran in her own little way sends a thank you letter to Taketo and in her own way says that the two of them might be a good match for each other.

In episode 6 Taketo has a deadline approaching for a porn novel but he runs into the one problem you would never expect a porn writer to run into, he can’t come up with any good material (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqyixwqiCag, seriously? What about all the wild fantasies we’ve seen in earlier episodes use those to write a story). But Kurumi decides to help by introducing him to Katsuyo a girl who is genius manager who is said can lead anybody she manages to victory. Kurumi locks the two up in an apartment and gives Taketo 48 hours to meet his deadline (and if not we’re going on a field trip to the Tokyo Bay). As they’re locked inside the apartment Katsuyo tries to cheer him on but her attempts just whine up prolong his writer block and causing him pain. Utae also comes by to give him a meal because after the events in episode 2 she’s developed a secret crush on Taketo ((http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fYfdlKIon4, and this apartment has just become a 3-way apartment of love. Oh yeah) that he obviously doesn’t notice because he’s pursuing Fukune (my advice, *whispers* go with the idol). A few of the students like Ritsu and Raika come to visit as well but nothing major happens while they’re there. As the 48 hours are almost up Katsuyo comes to the conclusion that since he can’t write about girls he should about guys and she calls in the Muscle club (guys with big muscles who only wear trunks. AHH, AHH, AHH, AHH~) who molest him with their muscles, and groins (I refer you to my previous statement of AHH, AHH, AHH, AHH~). This somehow destroys his writer block and he’s able to meet his deadline but he gets hospitalized because of the trauma from the Muscle club (Taketo: Muscles, muscles, AHHHHH~).

We get taken for a wild trip in episode 7, Kurumi wants Taketo to write about the things that happen in the girls dorm but as you might of guess boys aren’t allowed in the girls dorm so she gives him a stealth suit (that she got from eBay, interesting) that turns him invisible to see the daily lives of girls. So as you would expect he spies on all of the girls in their most private moments, goes into a dirty room where he smells a pair of dirty panties, and even goes into the girl’s bathhouse to watch them bath (it’s a lot more arousing than I’m making it out to be). As time goes on the suit begins to malfunction because he keeps getting a boner (pretty obvious considering what he’s been doing) and the girls think that he’s ghost and send in exorcist (genius one’s mind you) to eradicate him. Using his erotic storytelling he manages to beat the exorcists but Ran decides that she’s tired of the motherfucking ghost in this fucking dorm and puts the whole building on lockdown and to make matters worse Taketo’s suit runs on batteries which are almost dead and Kurumi abandons him in the dorm with no way out (you cheap-ass bitch~). He eventually runs into Raika’s room who helps him escape (oh my god, he escaped and unharmed. I don’t usually do this but he’s the man. He’s a guy in an ecchi anime and just escaped the girls’ dorm without being captured or having to face the consequences for his actions).

Not a whole lot happens in episode 8, the students get a day off from school and they all decide to go into town to relax. Due to Ritsu and Ran being late Taketo and Fukune whine up going into town together where they have a “date” so to speak. It starts to rain and in order to seek shelter from it they check themselves into a love hotel which Fukune is oblivious to despite the obvious hints such as the room having mirrors everywhere, energy drinks, porn TV, and massage books (okay, I know they’re trying to make her the obvious naïve and innocent girl but come on, no girl is this naïve and innocent especially at her age. If she was a little younger I would understand but this is a high school girl she should know about this stuff or at least been told this by her friends and parents). If there’s anything worth mentioning in this episode it’s that Fukune’s father is world class clarinet player who wanted Fukune to take her music playing seriously (which she does to the point that all we see her do is practice the clarinet in each episode) and wonders if she really is a genius (*watches previous scenes of the other characters* I say you’re somewhere down the middle, as oppose to everybody else you seem to have the most common sense out of all of them).

Episodes 9-12 and OVA

Episode 9 turns out to be another boring episode centering on Kurumi who we really don’t know a whole lot about. After doing some investigation on her Taketo discovers that there are pictures of her from over 200 years ago and starts to believe that she’s a ghost. Wanting to find the answers to his question he follows her around but she keeps giving him the slip (I would normally add in the X-file music here but they do that for me in a later scene. I love it, when an anime does the joke for me. . .oh what the hell I’ll put it in anyway, I like that song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQoRXhS7vlU). Utae eventually joins him in the investigation and they start to think that she’s an alien (call the MIB) and follow her for a number of days until they follow her into a building which turns out to be freezer and they get trapped inside. They find a hole which leads to a secret room where they find these huge test tubes but pass out from freezing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC8zz95rm8s). Taketo wakes up outside the building with Utae unconscious but okay where Kurumi tells him there are some things in the world that should remain a mystery and that she’s not the one he should be learning about. This episode is basically a shout out to all those sci-fi/horror mysteries.

Episodes 10-12 and OVA

Things start to pick back up in episode 10 where all the 1st year classes are having an orientation tournament amongst themselves in a hot spring town near campus. We find out in a flashback that the upperclassmen think the 1st years are slacking off so setup this orientation tournament to decide if they’re really worthy of being called geniuses where the 3rd and 2nd year classes will judge their performance in each match and the winning class gets an all-expense paid trip to anywhere they like. In the first round class 1-2 (Utae’s class) takes the early lead by having Utae hold a concert and earn 270 points, class 1-3 (Taketo and everyone else) do festival stands which earn them 0 points and class 1-1 (the class that nobody cares about) earns 30 points for their BL play . After getting a little inspiration from Utae, Taketo decides to turn all the stands into porno theme stands such as shoot the boobs and fish for yo-yos in a pool of girls and earns them 100 points (when in doubt, porn it). At the end of the first day they tally up all the points and class 1-2 maintains the lead with 1-3 right on their heels. While this is all going on Fukune returns from doing a solo concert at some music hall where we’ll find out later she fucked up hard (all that practicing and when the time comes to shine you screw up). The episode ends with her returning and talking to Taketo where she embraces him in tears.

We pick up the next day where episode 10 left off in 11 with Fukune going back to Taketo’s room and spending the night (make sure you put a tie on the door knob outside the door). Meanwhile on the competition side of things they start round 2 where class has to raise the most money. Class 1-2 auctions off some of Utae’s items (you guys really have no other talents in your class besides her do you), 1-3 has Ritsu and Ran team using their math and computer skills to become millionaires overnight but since they didn’t convert their computer data to cold-hard cash it doesn’t count (beaten by the system again), and 1-1 I have no idea what they did probably whore themselves off or something I don’t know but by the end of the second round 1-2 remains and first and 1-3 moves to third. Going back to Taketo and Fukune, Fukune makes him lunch which is a burnt omelet (YOU BURN THE OMELET *KARATE CHOPS DESK*! YOU’RE TRYING TO KILL SOMEONE! YOU DONKEY, FUCK OFF WITH YA! AND WHERE IS THE LAMB SAUCE *KICKS TRASHCAN*!?). He tries to get her to play her clarinet for the final round of the tournament which is going to chorus battle where he’ll be writing the lyrics for the song ((Isis): Oh no! (Chibi Isis): Oh no! (Nitsuj): Oh God, yes!) but Fukune snaps and says that she never enjoyed playing the clarinet and hates everything about while storming out (wow, human emotion. So she’s not a robot, I was wondering about that because throughout this entire season she showed no emotion whatsoever and just had that same staring off into space look in her eyes). So FINALLY, Taketo hears from Kurumi that Fukune’s concert was a complete disaster and comes to the conclusion that Fukune doesn’t really hate music but instead has closed her heart off to it and decides that he’ll write lyrics for the class song where he’ll show his true feelings and confess to her that he’s a porn writer. But he can’t come up with any lyrics because he’s still holding on to the fear that Fukune will come to hate him just like the girls from his middle school did (listen to your senses man *slap*! You’re a porn writer, the more you try to deny it the more you destroy yourself). Also, I gotta mention that Fukune’s father is an asshole to her. Right after the concert he doesn’t ask what happen, are you okay, why she froze up or anything he just says her going to school was pointless and that she needs to be genius at all times and leaves. Dude, your daughter just froze up at a concert you should be asking her what happen and checking to see if she’s alright or I don’t know engage her in a conversation. Yeah, in all the flashbacks we see of him and Fukune he just keeps calling her a genius and saying that must before a genius at playing the clarinet. He forced on her; he never once asked her if she likes the clarinet or if she wanted to play an instrument in the first place. He’s just like “what do you like? Fuck it! You’re playing the clarinet because I said so” that is an asshole right there. Getting back to the story Taketo pretty much gives up on writing his porn lyrics until Raika comes in and calls him an ugly liar for hiding his true self while telling others to open up (that’s a hypocrite you crazy bitch).

In the final episode Taketo gets done writing those lyrics and hands them off to a student to deliver to Fukune since he lost too much blood writing the lyrics (what the hell did you write boy). The next day comes and as the final round begins Fukune’s father comes to take her away from the academy by Utae shows up with Taketo’s lyrics (yeah, it was kind of obvious) and gives Fukune her clarinet back. After reading the lyrics Tsukuru’s rocket comes in and takes Fukune to where the rest of the class are getting ready to go on stage. Class 1-1 doesn’t do so well and 1-2 totally bombs since Utae decided to skip out on them since she’s in love with Taketo and wants his class to win (seriously, why isn’t she the leading female in this anime, she’s so much better). They go on stage and sing their porno song somehow with a straight face (yes, they are literally sing his song with a straight face; if it was me up there I would be laughing) and Fukune overcomes her problems and plays her clarinet again better than ever with her father watching. At the end Taketo’s class wins and Fukune puts together that Taketo’s a porn writer. No, just kidding she doesn’t figure it out. Like a naïve girl she didn’t understand most of lyrics thus Taketo’s safe for now (are you kidding me? Come on, I refuse to believe a girl, a high school mind you could be that naïve, you could have sang this to elementary students and they would have gotten it). They end with the class going to Vienna with Utae close behind because she hasn’t given up Taketo (good don’t give, you have the support of The Great Nitusj on your side, there’s no way you can lose)

There’s one OVA for this series that aired a few months after the anime ended. In the OVA the class along with Utae wake up separated on a deserted island after their airplane gets shot down by a UFO. Taketo wakes to the sight of Utae and Fukune unconscious before him and Raika’s head resting in his crotch (bet you never thought your first head would come from her did ya). They go to look for the others and find Ran being tentacle raped by a piranha plant from the Super Mario Bros. (Mario: Mama Mia! I didn’t know they were in to that kind of stuff!). The plant grabs the other girls and strips them all naked and plays with their bodies (by the way, did I forget to mention this whole OVA is uncensored so yes you will see boobs). Taketo tries to save them but gets captured himself until Ritsu shows and gets captured by the monster on purpose to be next to Taketo (seriously Ritsu, the evidence is really starting to pile up). The plant is about to have its way with Taketo (no! None of that! Shame on you plant, shame on you) but Tsukuru and Katsuyo (who are there for some reason) show up and take it down where a treasure chest appears with cosplay outfits inside for the girls to wear (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIfEgY_Qx3I). Taketo and Utae run into Kurumi while collecting supplies for the night and they accuse her of sending them to the island but she says she has nothing to do with it and just like them arrived at the island unconscious. The next day they find some ruins and get attacked by some unknown creature who captures Fukune and takes her back to his mountain lair where we see the other students are being held captured. Taketo takes on the beast the only way he knows how; by telling the erotic stories starring our female cast. He starts off with a naked photo-shoot featuring Utae and Riaka, a lab experiment gone wrong featuring Ran and Tsukuru, office BDSM starring Kurumi and Ritsu (he likes the punishment), naughty music lessons with Katsuyo and Fukune, and we end with a huge harem orgy for the finale (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWrklFuYnb0, SYMBOLISM). The beast goes down, and Fukune is saved but they out that captured students are fakes and we find out that it was all a trap setup by Kurumi to help Taketo gather new ideas for his novels. This OVA is quite funny and well worth watching after the season if not for its erotic antics and tales.

Final Thoughts

Now this is how an ecchi anime is done. I’ll admit it’s not the most ecchi anime I’ve seen but it’s still a good ecchi anime in my book. The characters are good, I like how Taketo swings from being a stand up students with morals and ethics but at the same time can be just as crazy as the other students with his perverted nature. As I said before we’re unsure if Ritsu is gay or not but near the end of the season the evidence starts the pile up that he’s gay as we constantly see that he’s always worrying about Taekto and often seems to care more about him then the other girls. The change that Utae goes through the season is quite good as well, we see that she has feelings for Taketo but she knows that Taketo likes Fukune and rather than try and limit their chances with each other which she had a number of times to do she instead decides to play fair and steal him away from Fukune using her own charm and methods. That’s actually quite noble and honorable. I’m not big fan of Fukune’s character, I get that she’s supposed to be the innocent and naïve character but if you ask me she’s too innocent and naïve she should have easily figured it out that Taketo is a porn writer especially in episode 12 with that song. Also, she seems to be oblivious to all sexual antics and events like she has no idea what they are or something. As I said before she has no emotions whatsoever, every time we see her she has this blank staring off into space look, she’s pretty much like a robot in this anime. The other characters are alright, they’re not bad and are quite funny and crazy to watch.

The animation and music are pretty standard, so there’s nothing major there and the wild fantasies that Taketo has are quite arousing and setup pretty well that you do you that these fantasies would make a good porn novel for their creativeness. If I had to rank the echhiness in this anime I would give it a 6/10 for being well timed, funny, and creative.

Final Score

The final score for R-15 is a 6/10. As far as ecchi animes goes it’s pretty plain and normal. The story is focusing on the daily school life of Taketo and the others with no major twist added into the story that we know of. If you want to see an ecchi anime that’s good and doesn’t go to over the top this anime is good for you to watch and if you enjoyed the series and want to know what happens next I suggest seeing if you can find the light novels online somewhere, the series is completed so you won’t have to wait around for next volume to come out. You know, I gotta be honest; I reviewed this anime and Senran Kagura back to back on purpose to setup for the new arc next week because just like there are good ecchi anime there are bad ecchi anime. Now let me tell you one thing, I give all animes a chance, if it’s bad I’ll try to find something good in it but there is one that I’ve watch and have yet to find anything good in it. Till next time, I’ll see you on the next Project Nitsuj.
