Hello! Nitsuj here, and welcome to the side blog the blogs between the blogs. Well guys the Summer of Fate has begun and I’ve got a lot of fun reviews for you this summer. With summer here that means new anime is on the horizon and that means it’s time for First Impressions and boy are there a lot of hot animes coming out this summer that has everyone excited. The spring line up has been good so far. SpyxFamily was the hit I expected it to be, Date A Live and Love is War are always enjoyable. Love After World Domination is cute and funny. The Tomodachi Game has been interesting. Skeleton Knight is pretty basic but I like the character of Arc, and Trapped in a Dating Sim offers a different perspective on the whole isekai genre. I haven’t checked out Summer Time Rendering but I hear it’s starting to pick up and the Shield Hero is unfortunately on speed, but to be fair it’s rushing past an arc that a lot of people supposedly didn’t like. Alright, enough chatting about the spring, let’s focus on the summer. This is the Summer Anime 2022 First Impressions.
The Devil is a Part-Timer S2
So the summer is starting off with the return of a lot of fan favorite animes. The first being The Devil is a Part-Timer. Finally, after years of waiting the reverse isekai comedy is making a comeback. Watching it.
Kanojo, Okarishimasu S2
The second season of Rent-A-Girlfriend. I did a review of the first season, you should check it out. Watching it.
Overlord S4
Overlord is back and I can’t wait to see what everyone’s favorite skeleton overlord is up to next. Watching it.
Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun
Made in Abyss is back. Get ready for some dark fantasy adventure with children. Watching it.
Classroom of the Elite S2
After years of waiting Classroom of the Elite returns and I’m excited this anime deserves it. Watching it.
Danmachi S4
Bell and his friends are back for another season of dungeon crawling. Watching it.
Yofukashi no Uta
Alright, time for some new anime. A comedy anime about a boy who slips out at night and befriends a vampire girl. Join these two on their nightly adventures throughout the city. I might watch it.
Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru
A comedy centered around shogi with a girl trying to make her kouhai confess. Not interested.
Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Daini no Shokugyo wo Ete, Sekai Saikyou ni Narimashita
A black company worker gets summoned to another world as a monster tamer. Thanks to the slimes he befriends he becomes a sage and acquires overwhelming power. I will check this out.
Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Moto Kano datta
After a terrible break-up in middle school, a boy seeks to start fresh in high school. Only problem is his ex is going to the same school as him and they just became stepsiblings. It’s the worst case scenario you can imagine. Skipping.
Shadows House S2
Second season of Shadow House. Didn’t really get into this anime so skipping it.
Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo
Another isekai anime where a guy gains the ability to claim idol-level girls as his allies. This should be fun. Watching it.
Kinsou no Vermeil: Gakeppuchi Majutsushi wa Saikyou no Yakusai to Mahou Sekai wo Tsuki Susumu
Alto, a student on the verge of flunky out of a magic school stumbles upon a grimoire and summons a devil named Vermeil who gets her daily supply of magic by passionately kissing Alto making his childhood friend (who is a girl obviously) jealous. I might watch it.
RWBY: Ice Queendom
Here’s another anime I’m looking forward to watching. A reimagining of the RWBY series in glorious 2D animation. A little skeptical but I’m hoping for the best. Watching it.
Engage Kiss
Baylong City, an artificial island city established, outside of any country’s jurisdiction, in the Pacific Ocean to mine for a new energy source known as orgonium. Unfortunately the mining has resulted in an outbreak of “D disasters” by demons in the city and private military companies are tasked with handling these incidents. We focus on a guy named Shuu who runs a small PMC with a demon girl named Kisara. I might watch it.
Tokyo Mew Mew New
The animal girl version of Sailor Moon is making a return. I’m checking it out.
Kumicho Musume to Sewagakari
A violent man in the yakuza gets forced to babysit the boss’s daughter. Not interested.
Hoshi no Samidare
A boy gets chosen to save the Earth from destruction and protect the princess. Once he finds out that princess is his next door neighbor he swears loyalty to her only to discover that she intends to destroy the world as well once the baddies are defeated. I will give the first three episodes a watch.
Isekai Ojisan
A man who was comatose for 17 years wakes up better than ever and moves in with his nephew where he discovers that his uncle was living in another world all this time, is obsessed with videogames, and now has to catch him up to speed on how the world has changed. This sounds like it could be interesting.
Kuro no Shoukanshi
A guy gets reincarnated into another where he’s OP and a battle junkie. I might watch it.
Love Live! Superstar!! 2
Second season. Not interested.
Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro
Utawarerumono is back and making its long-awaited sequel to their last season which was many years back. The Yamato Empire has come under the control of a conniving general and now different kingdoms must rally together to stop him. I watched the last season and was very invested in the story so I’ll definitely be checking this anime out.
ORIENT: Awajishima Gekitou-hen
Second season of ORIENT. Here’s another anime I didn’t really get into. Skipping it.
Isekai Yakkyoku
A young pharmacologist and researcher gets reincarnated in another world as the apprentice to a famous Royal Court pharmacist and opens up his own pharmacy for the common man. I will watch it.
Lycoris Recoil
A café that serves delicious treats and fights against the occasional monsters and zombies. I might watch this.
Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii
A young master suspects the new maid he hired is hiding a secret from him. I will check it out and see where it goes.
Jashin-chan Dropkick X
Third season. Not interested.
Bucchigire!
This anime sounds cool. When the Shinsengumi is wiped out by an unknown foe, seven criminals are chosen to bring law and order to Kyoto. I’m checking this anime out.
Renmei Kuugun Koukuu Mahou Ongakutai: Luminous Witches
Witches and idols. Not watching.
Prima Doll
In original project centered around autonomous girls who were created for war but now spend their lives serving in a coffee shop. I will give this the 3-episode watch.
Shoot! Goal to the Future
An anime about soccer. Not watching.
Yurei Deco
A mystery set in the digital world of the future. I might watch the first episode and see what happens.
SHINE POST
An idol anime about a group of idols with a lot of heart and a half-hearted manager with a special power. Not interested.
Teppen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Girls forming comedy acts. Not watching.
Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama: U-17 WORLD CUP
A new Prince of Tennis anime. Not interested.
Kami Kuzu☆Idol
A lazy boy idol gets possessed by a famous idol who wants to perform on stage. Skipping it.
Extreme Hearts
Girls pursuing their dreams in the world of hyper sports. Sounds interesting but not watching it.
Cardfight!! Vanguard: will+Dress
Third season. Don’t care.
Yoru wa Neko to Issho
The life of living with a cat after a long day of work. Not watching.
KJ File
Researchers trying to create a world where humans and kaiju can live together. I’ll check it out and see what happens.
Along with these animes we have Summer Time Rendering, A Couple of Cuckoos and Kingdom S4 continuing into the summer.
Final Thoughts
And that’s the summer lineup. A lot of animes coming out this summer. I’m excited to see the return of a lot of anime I loved watching in the past finally get a sequel and I am looking forward to some of the new animes set to come as well.
