Hello everyone, welcome to another edition of the Otaku Mind. I’m your host with the most, Justin. Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone out there. Last year, as some of you may know, I posted a list of my top 11 waifus, the anime girls I would like to marry. Well apparently, my female audience was upset as I failed to make a husbando list. Husbandos are the male equivalent of waifus and are basically anime boys, girls would like to marry. Well I aim to please so for this month’s Otaku Mind I’m going to give my pick for the top 11 husbandos that I think girls would like to marry. Why top 11? Because even when I’m not in character, I still like to go one step beyond. This list is special because I didn’t make the list, the fans did. That’s right, I asked my friends at Disqus to name some good husbandos and they gave me some really good names I never would thought of. I thought of a few names as well but this list wouldn’t have been possible without them. So thanks everyone at Disqus for helping me make this list. Without a further of ado, here they are, the top 11 husbandos.
#11. Negi Springfield from Mahou Sensei Negima
Don’t lewd the shota! The magic teacher and MC of the popular Mahou Sensei Negima series, the little brother all girls wish they had. Despite only being 10 years old, Negi is a teacher who has earned the respect and love of his students of 30 girls. The young magic boy is smart, cute, charming, caring, and of course powerful. He works hard at everything that he does and is nice and caring to everyone he meets. Even though he’s young, the kid already has a harem of girls who love him and he’s only 10 years old. This kid hasn’t hit puberty yet and when he does, he trades in cute for handsome and becomes the bachelor that every girl would fight for. He’s a dangerous kid who’s has much potential to be a great husband. If I were you ladies, I would get him while he’s young and start training him to be your ideal husband.
#10. Ren Amamiya/Akira Kurusu from Persona 5 the Animation
The male protagonist of Persona 3,4 and 5 each have their own unique traits. Minato is badass, Yu is wacky, and Ren is cool. I mean it, whatever Ren does he just makes it look cool and stylish. As the leader of the Phantom Thieves, Ren is oozing with charisma and carries himself as the guy who can get stuff. No matter the situation he’s in, he goes into it with confidence and with a devilish smile on his face that just makes the fangirl in you squeal. Besides being cool and confident the guy is just an all-around nice guy. He’s very caring, he’s always lending a helping hand to everyone in trouble, putting others before himself, and can make a mean cup of coffee and curry. He can be a little playful and snarky at times but that’s just part of his charm that makes him irresistible. Out of all the protagonists in the Persona series, Ren definitely has the most personality. Don’t let his quiet nature fool you. He’s a trickster who will steal your heart and you’ll never see it coming.
#9. Zen from Akatsuki no Shirayukihime
Our first prince for this and definitely a good one. Aside from his good looks, Zen was born into the lap of luxury as royalty. But despite being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, this prince is anything but spoiled or self-centered. Zen is caring, adventurous, brave, and a man who works hard for his country and for the girl he loves. He doesn’t abuse his authority, he hangs back and lets you do what you set out to do supporting you every step of the way but not overstepping his boundaries and if your in trouble you can count on him to come to your rescue no matter how far away you are. Zen is living proof that the fairy tale prince may in fact not be a fairy tale after all.
#8. Hak from Yona of the Dawn
If I had to describe Hak in one word it would be loyalty. Despite the entire kingdom turning on Yona, the one person who remained by her side and protected her is none other than Hak. Ever since day 1 he’s done nothing but protect the woman he loves and will gladly fight through armies alone just to protect her. You can’t get much better than that ladies. Despite being the protective type, he knows when to show tough love to make Yona better. If your looking for a man in your life to make you feel safe and never abandon you, Hak is your guy.
#7. Ikuto Tsukiyomi from Shugo Chara
Talk about a tease. You know how girls can tease guys to the point that they break? Well that’s what Ikuto does to girls. The man knows how to break any girl he meets and make them dance in the palm of his hands. The man carries a mysterious aura around him as someone who smiles on the outside but is hiding his pain on the inside yet despite that he’ll do everything in his power to get a rise out of the girl he likes. Just like a mischievous cat, Ikuto will tease and playfully have fun with the object of his affection and then shower you with love after the teasing is all done. He plays the violin, has a sexy voice, good looks, and playful personality. He’s the girl’s meow.
#6. Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass
Definitely a must on any girl’s list for anime guys to marry. So what if he’s a little crazy, the guy could read the dictionary and it would still be the sexiest thing you’ve ever heard. Lelouch was a guy with ambitions and a natural leader who was always one step ahead of his opponents. No matter how bad a situation was or how bad things looked, Lelouch always stayed confident and found a way to come out on top. On top of all that the man’s got good fashion sense and looks good in just about everything he wears. He’s got looks for every girl to decide.
#5. Light from Death Note
Girls love bad boys and Light is the boy that makes the good girls go bad. Light is that guy your parents always told you stay away from but being the rebellious girl you are, you find yourself being drawn to him and discover something interesting that you keep returning to him. Make no mistake, Light is no saint. He will use and abuse everyone around him and get rid of anyone he feels is a threat to him but he’ll hide it with his devilish smile and manipulate you into liking him. Your time with him will be fun, but the last minutes, not so much.
#4. Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler
Speaking of bad boys, we can’t forget everyone’s favorite devil butler Sebastian. Being that he’s a devil he’s naturally a sadist who loves tricking peoplenand putting those he’s sworn to protect in danger only to save them at the last minute. Yet, that’s what makes him so great. His devilish nature never makes life boring for you and no matter how much danger you get into, you can go into it with confidence knowing that Sebastian will save and dispose of anyone who causes you distress or harm. If Light was the bad boy your parents told you to stay away from, then Sebastian is the forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden. You were told not to eat it but you gave into temptation and ate it anyway. The consequences may be huge but your making the best of the situation.
#3. Tomoe from Kamisama Kiss
Just like girls can be tsundere, boys can be tsundere as well and the poster child for tsundere boys has to go to Tomoe. On first impressions this guy comes off as rude, uncaring, and hurtful, but in truth it’s all just a façade. The guy has a hard time expressing his feelings in words, so he let’s his actions do the talking for him. This familiar is always looking out for Nanami by protecting her, watching her back, cooking for her, punishing anybody who badmouthed her, and was very considerate of her nature as he never killed in front of her. He acted as a guardian angel even though he never showed it or would admit to it. He may not show it but deep down he cares for the person he loves and will do everything in his power to make you smile.
#2. Ikki Kurogane from Chivalry of a Failed Knight
If you’re looking for someone who’s traditional and new to relationships than I think Ikki is your guy. Ikki is the embodiment of hard work. In a world where talent means everything, Ikki proves that hard work and dedication will always pay off. He’s a guy who doesn’t hide his feelings and just like a girl who has started dating, isn’t entirely what he sure what to do so I feel that you can both learn together and go at your own pace without worrying what everyone says. Another thing I really like about Ikki is that he values the idea and concept on what a relationship is. He won’t date you just because he likes you and wants to have sex with you. He’s dating you because he really does treasure the bond that you have and wants to save it for marriage. That amount of respect he has for the girl he loves is proof that he’s a guy who will do anything to make you happy. No matter who he has to go through to do it.

#1. Makoto Tachibana from Free
I can honestly think of no one who’s the perfect embodiment of what a husbando should be like. He’s got good looks, rockin’ abs, and is just a sweet guy. He’s a guy who manages to warm your heart with just his smile alone. You could be having the worst day imaginable and all this guy has to do is just smile at you and your day is all better. He’ll even go the extra mile and try to make your day better in whatever way he can. He’s a big brother to everybody on his team, always helping them out, and being patient with them. Makoto has all the aspects every girl would love to have in a husband and what every guy should work to have. Caring, supportive, mature, sincere, and just an all-around great person in everything that he does. Makoto is my choice for the best husbando and someone I hope to be like to make my future wife happy.
