Hello. Justin here and welcome to the side blog the blogs between the blogs. Well guys it’s the beginning of fall which means new anime is around corner and that can mean only one thing, First Impressions. The summer anime for the most part has been decent. We’ve had a few hits like God of High School, Appare-Ranmen (where streamers/reactors aren’t watching it for some odd reason), Re:Zero, and Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha as well as a few fun watches like Monster Musume no Oisha-san, Digimon 2020, Fire Force, SAO, and Uzaki-chan (that’s right, I support Uzaki, come at me). Not surprisingly, a few animes that were to air in the summer got delayed until the fall so I’ll be skipping over them for this list and only focusing on the animes I haven’t talked about before. With that said, let’s give our first impressions on the fall 2020 lineup.
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei S2
First up it’s the return of the anime version of Jesus, The Irregular High School Student. Man, how cool would it be to see Anos vs Tatsuya? Sadly, the anime isn’t being done by Madhouse but instead 8bit who while not bad, the animation is going to take a heavy hit. Watching it.
Fumetsu no Anata e
A boy and a wolf become friends in the Artic and rely on each other for survival. I might watch it.
Jujutsu Kaisen
Here’s an anime that a lot of people are excited for. In a world where curses are real, a boy named Yuji becomes cursed in order to save his friend and gets possessed by a sorcerer. Yuji soon gets taken in by a school that trains its students to fight against curses. Watching it.
Tonikaku Kawaii
An anime that follows the story of high schoolers who get married. Not interested.
Kamisama ni Natta hi
From the man who gave us Angel Beats and Charlotte. A boy in the summer comes across a girl named Hina who has god-like powers and says that the world will end in 30 days and spends the remainder of the summer at the boy’s house. I might watch this.
Adachi to Shimamura
Follows the story of a girl who realizes that she might be a lesbian. Not interested.
Golden Kamuy 3
Here’s an anime I’m excited for, the third season of Gold Kamuy. Watching it.
Noblesse
Another anime that people are excited for. A vampire wakes up in the 21st century and tries to familiarize himself in this technological era. His servant who is the principal of a high school enrolls him in the school where comedic situations are bound to happen. I will check this out.
Ikebukuro West Gate Park
A man keeps getting involved in dangerous situations unwillingly and keeps dragging his buddies into it. I will give it the 3-episode rule and see what happens.
Majo no Tabitabi
Follows the story of a witch and the various people she meets on her journey. I might watch it
Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? BLOOM
Third season. Watching it to relax myself.
Hanyou no Yashahime
The Inuyasha spin-off that will focus on his child. I don’t care.
Akudama Drive
From the people behind Danganronpa comes a new story that focuses on criminals called Akudama. Watching it.
Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen
In a war between science and magic, a princess and knight fall in love with each other and are torn on what to do. Will they strike each other down or will love prevail? I’m checking this out.
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
In a new trend of isekai animes where the female is the MC, we get this anime where a girl gets transported into her favorite game and fights monsters all while wearing a cute but embarrassing outfit. Not interested, but I’m sure the AI girls might check it out.
Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko
A man gets reincarnated in another world where he spends his days researching the slimes he’s tamed and the various new species of slimes. I might watch it.
100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru
A school loner gets transported to another world with his 2 female classmates where they must work together and battle for their lives. Watching it.
Yuukoku no Moriarty
A story that reimagines Moriarty from the Sherlock Holmes novels. I might watch it.
Maou-jou de Oyasumi
What does a princess do when she gets kidnap? Try to sleep. Not interested.
Iwa Kakeru! Sport Climbing Girls
An anime about girls doing sport climbing. Not really my thing.
Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken
An anime based off the Dragon Quest manga from the 80s. Watching it.
A3! SEASON AUTUMN & WINTER
Third season of a boy idol anime, not watching.
Strike Witches: Dai-501 Tougou Sentou Koukuudan ROAD to BERLIN
A new Strike Witches anime to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Not interested.
Munou na Nana
Monsters have attacked Earth and in a school that trains those with special powers to fight them, one student with no powers seeks to try and destroy monsters with intelligence and manipulation. I might watch it.
King’s Raid: Ishi wo Tsugumono-tachi
A young squire embarks on an adventure to save the world. Watching it.
Taiso Samurai
An anime centered around men’s gymnastics. Well MAPPA managed to make ice skating look good so I’ll check this anime out.
Osomatsu-san 3
Third season. Not watching.
Magatsu Wahrheit: ZUERST
No information about this anime as of yet.
D4DJ First Mix
An anime that focuses on female DJs. Not interested.
Seizei Ganbare! Mahou Shoujo Kurumi 3
Third season. No thanks.
Saikyo Kamizmode!
No information about this anime either.
The only anime still continuing into the fall will be Fire Force. I guess Re:Zero is only getting 12 or 13 episodes this time.
Movies
Got some good movies coming out this fall. There’s Burn the Witch, Fate/Grand Order, Date a Bullet, Pokémon, Grisaia, BEM, and of course Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Final Thoughts
