Hello everyone. Nitsuj here and welcome to the side blog the blogs between the blogs. I hope everyone is safe and had a good Thanksgiving in these strange times and is ready to talk about some anime. First off, I would like to announce that the second preview of my light novel will be up Wednesday, December 9th so look forward to that. Thanks to everyone who read the first preview and if you haven’t read it yet definitely check it out. I got a lot of positive feedback from it and I’m really excited to release the next preview. Second, it’s time once again for First Impressions, where we take a look at the anime set to come out next season or this case next year. The fall season has had a few major hits that I’ve liked such as Jujustu Kaisen, The King’s Avatar, Golden Kamuy, Akudama Drive and Hypnosis Mic. Other then that, everything else has been okay. With that said, let’s get started. This is the Winter Anime 2021 First Impressions.
Attack on Titan Final Season
So the winter season is starting off hot with the much anticipated return of Attack on Titan for its final season. This time the season will be done by MAPPA instead of Wit Studios, so a lot of people are worried. Now MAPPA is a great studio and this has definitely been their year, but with them focusing on Jujustu Kaisen will they be able to give Attack on Titan the attention it needs and deserve? Hopefully, they’ve got two good directors heading up the project. Something that’s also weird is the anime will be starting in December as opposed to January. Odd. Watching it.
The Promised Neverland S2
On top of Attack on Titan we’re going to be getting a lot of highly anticipated sequels starting with The Promised Neverland. Watching it.
Dr. Stone: Stone Wars
The Stone Wars begin this winter. Watching it.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime S2
Watching it. One of my favorite isekai animes. Excited for it.
Gotoubun no Hanayome S2
Watching it.
Re:Zero S2 Part 2
The second part of season 2. We saw a lot of crazy events happen in the first part. I’m curious what will happen next. Watching it.
Beastars S2
Hell yeah, I’m watching this!
Cells at Work S2
The anime that makes learning about your body fun. Watching it.
Cells at Work: Black
Speaking of Cells at Work, we’re getting a spin-off series that takes on a darker look at your body. Watching it.
Nanatsu no Taizai S4
The fourth season. Please be better than the previous season. Watching it.
Yuru Camp S2
Second season. Not watching.
Log Horizon S3
Log Horizon is back where a year has passed for the group and a new threat has risen. Watching it.
Horimiya
Alright, sequels are done (for now). A slice of life school story that focuses on the multiple sides of students. Not interested.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu
An isekai anime that focuses on an unattractive NEET otaku. After being chased out from his house by his family, he walks the streets regretting his life choices. All of sudden, he sees three students about to be hit by a truck and saves them only to get hit by the truck himself. He dies and get reincarnated in a new world vowing to live life to the fullest. Watching it.
Kumo desu ga, Nani ka?
An ordinary high school girl gets reincarnated as a spider monster in another world. She now finds herself in a dungeon filled with vicious monsters and has to rely on her knowledge and positive thinking to survive. Watching it.
Non non Biyori S3
Season 3. Never got into this anime. Not interested.
SK∞
An anime about competitive skateboarding racing. Not watching.
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi
Oh yes, I’ve been looking forward to this anime. This is easily one of the most highly anticipated animes on my watchlist. Don’t let the artwork fool you, this is going to be a dark series. So, the story focuses on a healer named Keare who finds out that he’s one of the chosen heroes meant to save the world. He teams up with the other heroes where they exploit and abuse him, robbing him of everything and even getting him addicted to drugs. However, he discovers a new kind of magic beyond healing magic, but before he gets a chance to use it everything he has was taken away from him. So he uses his healing magic to rewind time, to redo everything and get revenge on those who made him suffer. Watching it.
Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou
A man gets rejected by his crush. On his way home after drinking his sorrows away, he finds a runaway high school girl who says she’ll sleep with him if he lets her stay at his place. I might watch this.
2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu
Real talk, I thought this was a spin-off of Haikyuu at first, but no, it’s its own story. The anime focuses on two childhood friends who reunite and join their high school’s men’s volleyball team. Not interested.
Ore dake Haireru Kakushi Dungeon
The son of a poor noble becomes an adventurer and acquires a skill that lets him bestow, create, and edit others skills. However, in order to use it he has to accumulate points by carrying out tasks such as eating delicious food or doing sexual things with members of the opposite sex. Watching it.
World Trigger S2
Second season of World Trigger. Never got into this series.
EX-ARM
I’m been hearing about this anime for some time now. Due to the pandemic it’s been delayed multiple times. I’ve talked about in the past a few times and once again the series just feels generic. I’ll watch the first episode and see what happens.
Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun
A gamer meets another gamer who helps him exploit life for the better. I might watch this.
Kemono Jihen
A detective is called in to investigate the disappearance of animal bodies that reappear in a remote mountain village. The detective gets help from a village boy who is shunned by his village and seems to be hiding a secret. I might check this out.
Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatari
A young boy who is considered weak by his village heads out into the world to become an adventurer. Little does he know, he grew up next to the most dungeon in the world. So while he doesn’t consider himself strong, the truth of the matter is he’s miles ahead of other adventurers starting out. Interesting. Watching it.
Bungou Stray Dogs Wan!
A spin-off comedy series of Bungou Stray Dogs. I’m sure Mira and Shizuku will be happy about this.
Ura Sekai Picnic
Slightly confused about this anime, but it seems to be a mystery anime as two girls are investigating a new world that exists along side our world. I might watch this.
Skate-Leading Stars
An anime that focuses on team-based figure skating. Not interested.
Back Arrow
Taking place in a fantasy world, a man named Back Arrow finds himself in Ringarindo with his memory lost. All he knows is that he came from beyond Ringarindo which is a land protected by a wall and ventures out beyond the wall where he becomes embroiled in a battle. I might watch this.
Hortensia Saga
Taking place in a medieval fantasy world, a king gets betrayed and murdered by one of the dukes who rebuilds the kingdom into his image. Three years later, the heiress to the throne hiding as a man has returned and together with her loyal band begin a quest to reclaim her homeland. This sounds interesting. Watching it.
Show By Rocks S4
Season 4 of lolis playing rock music. Not watching.
Wonder Egg Priority
No information about this anime as of yet.
Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi: Kimluck-hen
Second season. I watched the first episodes and never really got into this anime. Skipping it.
PROJECT SCARD: Praeter no Kizu
Set in the fictional “Akatsuki special ward” of Tokyo, a lawless independent state which is now run by three organizations called Helios, Artemis, and the Public Safety Bureau who maintain order. All three organizations implore the help of agents known as Scard who have divine tattoos that make them virtually invulnerable. I will try to watch this. Sounds interesting.
WIXOSS DIVA (A) LIVE
Now they’re bringing idols into their card games. Not watching.
IDOLY PRIDE
Another idol anime with no information as of now.
Tenchi Souzou Design-bu
A comedy/educational anime about angels making animals for God. I might check this out to get a good laugh.
Kai Byoui Ramune
A strange disease manifests into the bodies of other people and modern medicine can’t help. However, a doctor and his apprentice fight this disease using their strange methods. Not interested.
Gekidol
Taking place five years after a mysterious disaster that erased major cities around the world. The series will focus on girls who want to be part of this 3-D holographic idol group. Not watching.
I★Chu: Halfway Through the Idol
A talent agency creates a school to find new talent. Not watching.
Soukou Musume Senki
Girls in mecha suits. Not watching.
Idolls!
Idol anime with no information.
Continuing on from the fall season will be Jujustu Kaisen, Higurashi and a few other anime that no one really watches.
Movies
Got some good movies coming out. There’s the final movie of Evangelion (FINALLY), Princess Principal, Gintama and Sailor Moon. As for the OVAs, nothing.
Final Thoughts
Okay, so the winter season is coming out hot with some if not the most anticipated animes of the year already along with some new and interesting series that sound good and some that I’m looking forward to watching.
