It’s September which means fall is officially here which means it’s time to take a look at the fall anime, it’s time for First Impressions. As I’ve said before in the past the fall season is usually when the anime industry puts all of their best anime out on display. Where their most anticipated anime of the year gets aired. Will this year be anything different despite the pandemic? We’re about to find out. The summer lineup was kinda of bare for me. Didn’t really watch that many anime this past season. The real highlight anime for me was To Your Eternity which was a great anime. Like seriously, I went into this anime knowing nothing about it and I was impressed with what I got. But enough about the summer. It’s time to look towards the fall. This is First Impressions.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Part 2
So we start off on a good foot with the return of Mushoku Tensei. The first season ended on a major cliffhanger with a lot of questions so I’m interested in seeing what happens next. Watching it.
Kimetsu no Yaiba S2
They’ve been teasing this season all year so let’s goooooo~. Definitely watching it.
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Stone Ocean
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure returns with their next part. Skipping it. I’m sorry, I just never really got into Jojo. Even I find it strange.
Komi-san wa, Komyushou desu
A timid boy befriends an award girl and helps on her quest to make 100 friends. I might watch it.
Platinum End
A boy by the name of Mirai gets chosen to be the next god of the world, but he will have battle against 12 other humans also trying to become a god. I’ll watch it.
Date A Live S4
The fourth season of Date A Live. Every time you think the anime won’t be continued it always pops up. Watching it.
Blue Period
A boy leaves everything behind to pursue his new passion of painting. Not interested.
86 S2
Season 2 of the hit novel 86. Really enjoyed the first season. Watching it.
Mieruko-chan
A comedy/horror anime that follows a girl who gains the ability to see grotesque monsters all around her and does her best to ignore them. I’ll check out the first episode and see where it goes.
takt op.Destiny
A tale of girls battling with the power of musical scores. Sounds interesting. I’ll give it a watch.
Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru
An assassin gets reincarnated into another world where he has to eliminate the hero who will bring about the end of the world. Watching it.
Shuumatsu no Harem
Get ready for our controversial anime of the season. In the future a guy named Reito suffers from an intractable disease and enters cold sleep to cure his illness. Five years later the world is now dominated by women thanks to the MK virus which killed 99.9% of the male population. With men in high demand and women thirsty, it was decided that all men will have a massive harem whether they want to or not. Watching it.
Shin no Nakama janai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni shimashita
After being kicked out from the hero’s party, Red decides to open an apothecary and keep his former his a secret from everyone. However, that might be hard when he’s reunited with an adventurer from his past who moves in with him. Watching it.
Saihate no Paladin
A boy who was raised by the undead embarks on a path to become a paladin. Will watch it.
Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi
Office comedy. I might check it out.
Visual Prison
Vampires singing. I will watch this just because I’m curious to see what happens.
World Trigger S3
Third season of World Trigger. Never got into this anime.
Isekai Shokudou 2
Second season of the isekai cooking anime. It was decent. I’m skipping it.
Taishou Otome Otogibanashi
A feel good story about a boy who gets his arm crippled in 1920s Japan. No longer considered an heir by his father, the boy gets shoved off to the country to live out his life. One day, a girl claiming to be his bride to be arrives and his life changes for the better. Not sure about this one.
Sakugan!!
Taking place in the distant future where humanity lives underground where people search for gold and other riches. A father and daughter pairing decide to take a risk and become Markers, people who brave the unknown of the underground world and create maps for others. It’s a high paying job with big risks, but two decide to go for it. Watching it.
Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu
The space race set in an alternate reality with humans and vampires. Not interested.
Ousama Ranking
Follows the story of a deaf prince who strives to become king and the friends he meets along the way. Starting with a strange shadow-like creature that used to be an assassin. Not watching.
Muv-Luv Alternative
A new story set in the Muv-Luv universe. Not watching.
Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei
An isekai anime about a boy who’s fat and bullied by his classmates gets isekai’d to another world where he becomes their champion. I might watch it.
Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Dai-Mankai no Shou
Third season of an anime I’ve never heard of. Not watching.
Lupin III: Part VI
Oh yeah, now we’re talking. Lupin the Third is back for Part 6 and this time Sherlock Holmes is making an appearance. Watching it.
Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru
A guy who can see ghosts and spirits gets roped into helping an exorcist. Not interested.
Shikizakura
Shrine maidens, battle suits and monsters. The recipe for a Saturday morning cartoon. Not interested.
SELECTION PROJECT
A new idol anime. Not interested.
Puraore!: PRIDE OF ORANGE
Anime about women’s ice hockey. Not watching.
Tesla Note
Two young spies attempt to save a scientist while battling other spies. I might check it out.
Kyoukai Senki
Japan has become dominated by four major blocs of the world and a boy find a mech with an AI which he will used to free Japan. Not watching.
Build Divide: Code Black
A fantasy story about a boy aiming to become king and participating in a game to do it. I might watch it.
Gyakuten Sekai no Denchi Shoujo
A rather confusing anime where our world gets invaded by an alternate version of our world and conquered. Not watching.
Deep Insanity: The Lost Child
An illness known as Randolph syndrome is slowing approaching humanity thanks to this huge underground world called Asylum in Antarctica. Strange creatures live in this world and people brave the Asylum to get rich. Strangely reminds of Made in Abyss accept it’s more reality based. I’m checking it out.
Megaton-kyuu Musashi
The world gets invaded and 90% of humanity gets wiped out. Survivors live in a shelter where they’re monitored and the invasion has been erased from their minds. Three teenagers from the shelter get chosen to pilot mechs which when combined form the Musashi mech. Not interested.
Gensou Sangokushi: Tengen Reishinki
A story that puts different spend on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Not watching.
Digimon Ghost Game
A new Digimon anime. Not really interested.
Cardfight!! Vanguard: overDress 2
Season 2. Not interested.
Waccha PriMagi!
It’s like a young girls wild fantasy that combines music, fashion, and dancing. Not watching.
MUTEKING THE Dancing HERO
A boy who moves to Neo San Francisco becomes a hero and has to fight against the forces of evil to save the world. Not interested.
Chickip Dancers
No information about this anime, but it looks like it’ll be geared towards children. Not watching.
Along with these animes we have Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai and Shiroi Suna no Aquatope continuing into the fall.
Movies and OVAs
Big movies coming out this fall are the Jujustu Kaisen movie, SAO: Progressive, and Princess Principal. As for OVAs, we have Baki and a Star Wars special composed of 9 short films.
Final Thoughts
And that’s the fall lineup. Lots of interesting titles coming out this season and I’m going to try and watch all of them as much as possible. No promises as I am focusing my attention on another project. Whatever the case I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy and entertained as I’m sure you guys do as well.
