(Amarti): So, you want to learn about elves? Well you’ve come to the right person. In this world there are four races: humans, demihumans, merfolk, and elves. For us elves we’re defined by our gorgeous appearance, long ears, and slim figures. Also no, we don’t sparkle in the sunlight. Not sure who started that rumor but it’s false. There’s also the rumor going around saying that all elves are vegans. That is false, we elves enjoy a nice well-cooked steak. We just don’t eat it in large portions. Even if we did we would work it off rather quickly as we elves have a high metabolism. Got to maintain this slim figure somehow. The one rumor that is true is that some elves can be a bit pompous and look down on those around them. Including their own race. Trust me, I’ve seen it firsthand. It’s one of the reasons why I left home. For us elves, our agility and intelligence are our best offense when fighting. We may not be the strongest, but we’ll be sure to dodge our opponents and outthink them to win. Elves usually live in forests. However, over the years we’ve started migrating to cities and other kingdoms for work and a change of pace. In terms of lifespan, the average elf can live to be 700 years old. I’ve heard there are those who lived to be 800 or older thanks to their healthy lifestyles, but I’ve never met them. With such a long lifespan we elves do everything we can to find something to entertain us. Some find entertainment in fighting, others in cooking, listening to music, playing videogames, or in my case, running businesses.
Now there are five types of elves in the world. The first are the woodland elves, outgoing and easy to identify by their light skin. Overall they’re friendly but there are those who think too highly of themselves and think they’re better than everyone. I should know seeing as I am a woodland elf. Second, dark elves. Easily recognized by their dark skin these guys can get possessive over their territory and don’t back down from fights. Some people say they aren’t trustworthy but the ones I’ve worked with have been good to me and have proven to be good allies. Third, snow elves. A very secretive bunch who can be easily recognized by their blue eyes, fair skin and hair as white as snow. Unlike woodland and dark elves these guys settle in the cold mountains away from everyone. Haven’t had much interaction with them. They’re a closed-off bunch who keep to themselves. Even the other elf races find them strange. Fourth, halflings. Just like the name implies these are elves that are half elf. Elves are compatible with any race out there and it’s quite common for them to seek partners outside their own race. While halflings don’t live as long as a regular elf they live for a pretty long time when compared to the other races. Finally, celestial elves. Said to be the direct descendants of Faven, the Goddess of Light. They’re strong both physically and magically, have beauty that will never fade, and are smart. They’re blessed by the power of light and one of them is strong enough to demolish an army single-handedly. They also live twice as long as a regular elf, 1500 years to be exact. However, they’re rare. Only one in a million are born and even then, you can’t tell the difference between them and a regular elf. Some go their whole lives not even knowing they’re a celestial elf.
