Hey guys, Justin here and welcome to the Otaku Mind. When it comes to the members of Hololive the question has always been, are these girls idols? If you were the ask management they would say no, they’re an entertainment company and I think that perfectly describes Hololive. They’re entertainers which means whether it be dancing, singing, drawing, playing games, doing comedy sketches, answering fan questions or reading superchats it all counts as entertainment and gives the girls a chance to show off all their talents and make us laugh. Hololive has delivered a lot of funny moments over the years. Certainly more than 11, but if I listed them all we’d be here all day so here’s a short list naming what I consider to be some of their funniest moments. I’m Justin and these are the Top 11 Funniest Hololive Moments.
#11. Kronii goes Super Saiyan in Ring Fit
The recent moment on this list and definitely one of the funniest. Ring Fit has been played by another of Hololive members and has supplied us with blessed sounds for our ears to enjoy. However, some of the best sounds come from the Warden of Time herself Kronii. Feeling confident in herself while playing Ring Fit, Kronii does the unthinkable and sets the difficulty level to 30 the highest the game has to offer. What happens next is comedic enjoyment on our end but pain and misery on Kronii’s end as she feels the burn and does everything in her power to remain seiso. Seriously, her screams of torment sound so painful that you’d swear she was giving birth. Still, Kronii manages to push through and complete the stage impressing everyone including myself. While there have been many members of Hololive have played Ring Fit, Kronii holds the distinct honor and bragging rights of saying she completed a stage at the highest difficulty level.
#10. Hololive ID goes to Pico Park
There have been various members of Hololive who have played this simple but friend-destroying multiplayer puzzle platformer but the one that managed to get the most laughs out of me was the Indonesian branch. Hosted by Iofi herself, this collab features everyone from Holo ID working off each other and creating a perfect blend of comedy. We get screams, laughs, picking on each other, and just an all-around good time. This is honestly one of the best collabs in all of Hololive, shines a great spotlight on the ID group, and shows how funny and crazy these girls can get.
#9. HoloGamers play Phasmaphobia
While not the most pleasing games to the eyes, Phasmaphobia was a good multiplayer to play with your friends and get a scare out of everyone. Just like the previous entries they’re have been a number of Hololive members who have played the game, but the one that gets the most laughs out of me is HoloGamers which features Korone, Okayu, Mio, and Fubuki. It’s been a while since these four have collab together and they really brought their A game here. Their stream is great for two reasons. First off, it’s funny as hell. Korone and Mio are screaming their heads off at everything getting the most laughs out of everyone, Okayu is trolling, and Fubuki sits back and observes. Second, this was the stream where Fubuki finally reached one million subscribers. At the very end of the stream as they were finishing up Fubuki told everyone she reached one million subscribers. It was long overdue, well deserved, and the fact that she got to share this moment with her unit just made the moment all the more wholesome.
#8. Kiara’s First Deathloop
I’m not much of an FPS gamer but even I have to admit I did enjoy playing Deathloop and recommend it to anyone looking to get into FPS games. So I was quite surprised and happy to see Kiara play Deathloop not too long ago. A total noob when it comes to FPS, Kiara plays the game with caution and fear which can annoy a few people, but she still manages to keep it entertaining. Doing her best to avoid battle and often panicking whenever she finds herself in a conflict. What makes these streams so funny is Kiara’s wild mood swings from screaming in fear one second to laughing like a maniac the next second. Despite her constant screaming and fear you can tell she was having fun and totally invested in the story and game. As of now she’s only streamed the game twice so here’s hoping she continues to play the game down the line. Seeing her panic will always be funny in my book.
#7. Okayu loses her sanity in Slither.io
Okayu has pretty much cemented herself as the literal cool cat of Hololive. While most members rage at games, Okayu takes it easy. Never raging or panicking when playing games and just enjoying her time. Not even rage inducing games such as Mario Kart, Mario Party, Jump King and even Getting Over It don’t seem to faze this cool cat. However, there’s one game out there that manages to accomplish the impossible and that’s Slither.io. Another game that a lot of the girls have played, Slither.io manages to break Okayu and allow her true personality and character to come out. It’s amazing how this game manages to break the persona Okayu has built up and show a side to her we’ve never seen before. It’s both fascinating and hilarious, it’s like her body got taken over by Subaru. Even Okayu is shocked by her character change making it all the more hilarious to see her lose her mind.
#6. The Holoministry
The Holocouncil has been around for almost half a year now (man, time flies) and they’ve provided their fair share of funny moments such as the civil war between Kronii and Fauna, Bae’s on again off again marriage with IRyS, Sana’s request to Yagoo, and Mumei’s cute psychotic behavior. But probably their funniest moment to date has to be the Holoministry. In one of the most surreal streams I’ve seen, the council morphs into the ministry, an all-male version of themselves using voice modulators and everything to sound more masculine. What happens throughout the stream is hilarity as these girls do their best to act like boys and presents humor that’s almost on the level of Ren and Stimpy. Seriously, I’m amazed at the amount of jokes they got away with in this stream and I respect them for going all the way with this bit and doing it. Sana easily has the best lines in this stream. Definitely give this stream a watch when you get a chance. You’re gonna laugh your head off.
#5. Korone’s English
One of the big obstacles that stops EN and JP members from collaborating with each other is the language barrier. While some members have taken steps to learn Japanese and English it’s still an obstacle that both sides struggle with. Korone is one of the JP members who has amassed an impressive following in the west and has been practicing English in an effort to better communicate to them. Korone’s English is not only cute but leads to a lot of funny lines and moments that are meme worthy. While her all English Super Mario Bros. stream was hilarious and gave us great lines such as “water in the fire. Why!?” and her unknowingly Rick Rolling chat twice was also funny it’s in her collaboration with Calli that Korone delivers her most iconic English line: I’m die. Thank you forever. It’s a line that caught everyone completely by surprise and the way she delivered it was both cute and hilarious. Till this day this line continues to be one of Korone’s funniest and best moments.
#4. Hololive does the Nuzlocke challenge and goes shiny hunting
A Pokémon Nuzlocke challenge is always fun and intense as players have to take extra care of their Pokémon or risk losing them forever. When Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond came out some Hololive members decided to test themselves and participate in the Nuzlocke challenge. The one who managed to get most laughs out of me was Pekora as she loses her two best Pokémon with one of those deaths being an unlucky break for her. Of course with any Pokémon game everyone does a little shiny hunting and when you’ve spent sleepless hours trying to get that shiny Pokémon you’ve always wanted, your reaction may be a little over the top when it appears. Fubuki finally catching a golden Magikarp after spending 221 hours trying to catch it is rewarding, Sana screams so much that she almost passes out, but it’s Calli who takes the gold here. In a rare instance we got to see the always calm and collective Calli lose it and return to monkey when after 1,680 restarts she finally manages to get a shiny Giratina. Botan shows she has the best luck as she manages to get four shiny Pokémon in a row. And speaking of Botan-
#3. A Lion and A Duck Look Out the Window
In Resident Evil you can always expect a jumpscare to occur. Resident Evil Village saw a lot of vtubers play the game and the one reaction everyone was looking forward to was the baby scene. While that scene and everyone’s reactions to it were great, the best laugh comes from the best duck and lion out there. In a short 12 second video we see how Subaru and Botan react to the infamous window jumpscare scene from the game. Subaru’s reaction is about what you would expect. Screaming her head off while still being cute. Botan on the other hand just straight up headshots the zombie and goes outside to finish the job before reacting to it. These two reactions are hilarious and the fact that they’re played back-to-back to each other just makes them all the more enjoyable. I just love how Botan just automatically headshots the zombie twice before reacting to it and Subaru’s screams are always hilarious. This clip perfectly shows off the personality of these two girls and honestly makes me want to see a buddy cop show starring these two.
#2. Ame is Toxic
Ame is not what you would call the traditional idol. However, what she lacks in traditionalism, she makes up for it with innovation and creativity. Serving as the brains and tech wiz of Hololive EN while also adding the most lore to her character and pushing the boundaries of what a vtuber can do. Ame has developed a reputation as a toxic gamer within the Hololive community. Rage quitting, screaming, and banging poor desk-kun whenever things don’t go her way. Just like a true salty gamer rather than blame herself for these mistakes, she instead pins the blame on the game, the viewers, the controller, the ping or in most cases the delay. Whatever she blames it on her rages are funny and her excuses are adorable. Don’t ever change Ame.
And number one. . .
#1. The Among Us Collaborations
This is Hololive at its best. The Among Us collaborations are always funny and give us the best reactions and interactions among the girls no matter what branch they’re from. There have been a number of hilarious moments from these collaborations such as Calli scaring the JP members not to vote for her. There was the final showdown between Rushia, Okayu, and Subaru with Subaru screaming her head off believing Okayu was the impostor. Another good one is Botan being haunted by Miko after killing her. Oh, and you can’t forget the EN collab where IRyS takes down the council and Gura’s reaction to getting betrayed by Ina was hilarious. There was Iofi’s erotic ‘ahhh’ that shocked everyone. We also can’t forget the time Noel was haunted which drove her so insane that she threw the game just to get them to stop. Oh and how about the drinking streams with Korone getting drunk, crying, and falling asleep in the middle of the game. All these moments are funny, but hands down the funniest moment from these collabs is the moment where Marine and Fubuki get into a heated argument with each other on which one is the impostor, and the funny thing is neither one is the impostor and Korone is just laughing her head off at their argument all while the real impostor just sits back and enjoys the show. The Among Us collaborations are chaotic, fun, and hilarious to watch. It’s the girls at their best as they interact off each other the best way they can giving us great entertainment.
