(Nitsuj): Hello and welcome to Project Nitsuj. Nitsuj here with this week’s guest host the sadistic but lovely Seras. (Seras): Hello everyone, it’s been a while since my last review but I will do my best. (Nitsuj): As you all know my house has been haunted by otaku’s from the 90s so the only way to please them is to show them a good anime and since we’re in the middle of Ani-ween what better anime to review than Tokyo Ghoul. (Seras): Considered one of the best animes to come out in 2014, Tokyo Ghoul is an anime based off the hit manga series under the same name written by Sui Ishida which started in 2011 and ended in 2014 with 14 volumes total. The series follows the story of a young who through a series of events becomes a ghoul and now has to adapt to his new life while also trying to hold on to the things he holds in his old life. Ever since its debut the series has gone on to be one of the most popular mangas in the last decade. (Nitsuj): Because of this the very popular studio Pierrot (Bleach, Naruto, and Yu Yu Haskusho) turned the series into an anime not once but twice and for the next two weeks I’ll be reviewing it. (Seras): And since I’m a fan of the series and promised a part in the review last year I’m here to help out. (Nitsuj): Let’s dive right in and satisfy these lost spirits. This is Tokyo Ghoul.
Opening and Ending Theme
(Seras): The opening for this anime is “unravel” by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure. This was one of my favorite openings from 2014. The song is beautiful and majestic as it takes us into the mind of our characters and their suffering. I like how it starts off slow, peaceful, and quiet but then proceeds to speed up near the end and become violent and loud as if the characters are crying out for help. (Nitsuj): Personally I thought the song was alright. When I first heard it I wasn’t a big fan of it but as time went on I grew to like it but not as much as Seras or others. I will say however the animation in this opening is amazing to look at. It’s colorful and matches up perfectly with the song. Also it might just be me but does anyone else feel this opening go by faster than other openings? (Seras): The ending for this anime is “Seijatachi” (Saints) by People in the Box (Nitsuj: Somebody let them out). Didn’t really care for this opening all that much. It’s not bad, the singer sounds good but it just moves too slowly for me and it’s too quiet for me to really get into. (Nitsuj): I personally I liked the ending theme. While everyone was talking about how great the opening was I was always talking about the ending how good it was. Just you said Seras the singer sounds good and yeah it can move slow and be quiet but it never really bothered me all that much. I always saw it as the anime reading the mood of what we just saw and giving the viewer a chance to come back down and let them take it all in. (Seras): Also, the still artwork is amazing to look. (Nitsuj): Yes, it really stands out. Rumor has it Ishida himself did the artwork for this ending. Not sure if that’s true but whoever did the artwork is very talented. Much better than what I can draw.
Episodes 1-4
So the anime starts off with our main character Ken voiced by Natsuki Hanae (Shinichi from Outbreak Company) hanging out at a coffee shop (Seras: I believe it’s called Starbucks. (Nitsuj): But they never say it. (Seras): It’s obviously Starbucks, is there any other coffee shop in existence worth going to?) with his friend Hide talking about how he wants to ask the coffee girl out on a date (out of your lead, try again) but than a beautiful violet-haired woman comes walking in and all of sudden Ken’s focus shifts to her (Seras: Wow, fickle much. (Nitsuj): Hey he’s an adolescent boy, the only thing going on in his mind is dating that girl and getting inside her pants or skirt. And possibly doing the same thing with the mother. (Seras): Oh God). After his friend leaves Ken notices that the violet-haired woman named Rize voiced by the ever popular Kana Hanazawa (Charles from Infinite Stratos) is reading the same book he is which gives him the confidence to asks the girl out. While that’s going on, police are busy handling a ghoul case. What’s a ghoul you ask, a ghoul is a monstrous human who goes around killing humans and eating their dead bodies. Nobody knows who these ghouls are because they wear mask to cover their faces and have dangerous powers and recently their attacks have been on the rise in the city (Tokyo just can’t catch a break can it?). The next day Ken goes on his date with Rize where it goes well and he walks her home since she lives near the place where the recent ghoul incident happened (because she caused it). As their walking Ken tells her how he’s an orphan since both his parents are dead and Rize reveals herself to be a ghoul (oh that sucks. Your first girlfriend is gonna kill you. This could have a serious impact on getting to second and third base). She takes a bite out of Ken’s shoulder and he tries to get away but Rize catches him and throws him into a construction site where she rips out a few organs (Seras: Such a waste of a perfectly good kidney) which brings him to the brink of death. Just as Rize is about to finish him off in her state of ecstasy (I bet her and Saeko from H.O.T.D are good friends) she gets killed by iron boards falling from a building (Seras: If dying like a bitch was a part of her plan, mission accomplished). The medics show up and take parts from Rize and insert them into Ken to keep him alive (scene here: //youtu.be/pOCNzrwwo2g, what the hell is wrong with you people!? You’re putting the body parts of a monster into a human being? Are you mad!? Who knows what’s gonna happen to him?). He wakes up and gets released from the hospital but when he tries to eat food he finds out that to him it taste horrible (probably all because you’ve been injected with the body parts of a horny rampaging carnivore who you wanted to give your virginity to. Scene here: //youtu.be/TtL7l0kOd50, here’s a theory, if good food taste bad for him than maybe bad food will taste good for him. Quickly, to McDonald’s). Ken realizes that he’s a ghoul but not entirely a ghoul on account of only one of his eyes have gone red and he still has a conscience telling him not to eat people although the struggle is pretty obvious. He goes out and runs into another ghoul devouring a human (Seras: That was rude of Ken, you don’t walk in on a guy eating) where another comes in and attacks Ken for coming into his territory (so now they’re territorial. Man they really are just mindless animals) but he gets saved by the coffee girl (Seras: Strabucks girl) named Touka voiced by Sora Amamiya. After saving Ken she takes a limb from the dead corpse and forces it down Ken’s throat showing him that he’s ghoul now whether he likes it or not.
In episode 2 Ken still refuses to accept that he’s a ghoul and Touka reprimands him for his actions (Seras: Woah, reprimands. (Nitsuj): I know terms little lady). She proceeds to beat him up (I think she likes him) where we see he has regenerative powers (he’s a Wolverine) and she gets stopped by her boss Yoshimura. Yoshimura takes Ken back to the coffee shop where we find out that coffee is the only thing ghouls can drink but even that’s not enough to satisfy their hunger. Ken continues to struggle between his human side and ghoul side, so much so that he begins having hallucinations of Rize appearing before him telling him to kill (Seras: And kill and kill and kill until you can’t kill nothing else). Ken finally meets up with Hide who introduces him to Nishio who just happens to be the same ghoul from yesterday that attacked him. As the three are walking to Nishio’s house Nishio knocks out Hide and attacks Ken accusing him of trying to eat Hide (not gonna lie I’m kinda expecting that sometime in the future). After Nishio beats up Ken, he makes his way towards the unconscious Hide prepared to eat him but Ken fights back and winds up hurting Nishio badly using Rize’s powers (Seras: Thank you dead psychotic ex-girlfriend). Ken’s ghoul side gets the better of him and he prepares to eat Hide (my prediction comes true) only to be stopped by Touka who knocks him out (damnit woman! Let the man eat first and then he’ll give you the right amount of attention). She takes him back to the coffee shop where we see that thanks to Touka’s efforts Ken didn’t eat Hide but he begins to wonder if he should hang around Hide from now on (Seras: Let me save you sometime no). Yoshimura tells Ken not to lose faith and he wants him to stick around and learn more about ghouls as well as himself.
In episode 3 we see that Ken has started working at the coffee shop. At the said coffee shop (Seras: Say coffee shop one more time and I’m kicking you in the groin) Ken befriends one of the young customers named Hinami another ghoul who lives with her mother and due to circumstances can’t see her father (it’s because she’s gonna eat him isn’t it?). He decides to become her tutor and help her learn words she normally can’t say or understand. We also see how the ghouls in the area who don’t wish to kill get their meals. Ken goes with another ghoul named Yomo a quiet and reserved ghoul who helps out Yoshimura a lot. They find dead bodies of people who’ve died in accidents or suicide at the bottom of a cliff (Seras: Well on the upside at least they were organ donors). On Touka’s day off she takes Ken (oh a date. (Seras): Yes, because I’m sure she wants to spend her day off with a useless maggot like Ken) to Uta a calm and peaceful ghoul who owns his own mask shop to get fitted for his own mask (scene here: //youtu.be/vTBQD3uIw-k). Why does he need a mask you ask? Well it’s to hide his face from the Doves a special force armed to killed ghouls and annihilate them from Tokyo once and for all. We see that two doves one being Amon an A-rank investigator who’s dedicated to his job and graduated at the top of his class and the other being Mado a senior investigator who has an obsession with dissecting ghouls and despite his old age is still a powerful opponent for ghouls to face. These two are in the area investigating the ghoul code named the “Gourmet” a very troublesome ghoul in the area who is so bad and dangerous that even other ghouls stay away from him. They find and ask other ghouls about the “Gourmet” but they don’t know anything so as punishment for not supplying the information they need the Doves just straight up kill them with ease (Scene here: //youtu.be/97xUXLnzKpE, (Seras): Wow, just like that. I thought killing them would have taken a bit more effort. (Nitsuj): Yeah same here. The anime builds them up to be these powerful metahumans but in truth they’re just as easy to kill as a normal human being). We end the episode with a tall man with blue hair wearing an all red suit (Seras: That is too much red. I never thought I would say that) arriving at the *Seras stares intently at Nitsuj getting her foot ready*. . . Starbucks shop and saying how great it smells (it’s fabulous~).
In episode 4 we find out that the man in the red suit is Shu aka the “Gourmet” a ghoul so dangerous that even other ghouls avoid him (that and because he has bad fashion sense. Picture here: //photo.ma-bimbo.com/fr/25/12316/moy/9852498.jpg. Red may be a fall color but that is too much red you hear me too much red. Now go change you’re hurting my eyes). Shu takes an interest in Ken and goes to visit him at his college wearing his best Bill Cosby sweater (Picture here: //38.media.tumblr.com/e20b244e292fd783f3bb27e954364055/tumblr_inline_n9ais1NY3g1qi38f1.gif. (Seras): O_O Where the hell did he get that thing? (Nitsuj): It’s like he raided Bill Cosby’s closet and just found the tackiest thing he could get his hands on before Cosby showed up to stop him) where he tells Ken he too likes to read books and invites Ken over to his café where they can talk more about books (*Bill Cosby impression* and maybe enjoy a juicy bowl of jello). And despite the fact that Ken was warned to stay away from him he agrees to meet up with him on Sunday (//youtu.be/qileP4bAzek ) and we see that he’s developing an obsession with Ken’s blood and scent (scene here: //youtu.be/3aVa1iRu2us). After that Ken starts to receive martial arts training from Yomo so that he can defend himself should the need arise (he’s got the dodging down now all he needs to do is get the punching and kicking down). After their training Yomo takes Ken to meet another ghoul named Itori who owns her own bar and tells him that there’s another half ghoul out there just like him (man some other poor bastard is going through the same thing as Ken? I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemies. (Seras): I would. Those bastards and bitches need to suffer. (Nitsuj): Who are these bastards and bitches you speak of? (Seras): They know who they are). We also find out that half ghouls are apparently stronger than normal ghouls. Sunday rolls around and Ken goes to meet Shu (Seras: And he’s actually wearing normal clothes this time around. I guess there’s a first time for everything) where he tells Ken that he and Rize use to hangout often but in truth Rize would always make fun of his high society act which pissed him off (in her defense his high society act is silly. You’re eating humans dude, there is nothing sophisticated or fancy about it. That’s like Seras trying to act all proper and sophisticated when really all she did was destroy a bunch of mindless viruses. (Seras): Despite the fact that I feel you’re making fun me you do have a point. In truth what I’m doing is quite barbaric and sadistic. But still enjoyable nonetheless). Shu decides to show Ken where Rize used to hangout a lot (the back ally of the city’s mortuary?) which happens to be a fancy secret restaurant where ghouls gather to try delectable food and tonight’s main dish is Ken the ghoul with the scent of a human and an aroma that drives the other ghouls crazy (scene here: //youtu.be/DQG5zeAmVYU. (Seras): Scent of Ken. Now served in a bottle at all retail stores). The group of masquerade ghouls (oh God could they get anymore hilarious) release a fat mask wearing chef guy named Taro to cook Ken up (I spoke too soon). Ken tries to escape Taro but gets captured by him and as Taro begins to choke the life out Ken his left eye becomes that of a ghoul and it gets revealed to everyone in the room that Ken is a half ghoul. Ken escapes Taro and in a state of excitement Shu enters the arena and saves Ken slaying Taro with his bare hands. Shu says that they should just eat Taro instead to cover up the fact that he intends to eat Ken himself and not share him with anyone.
Episodes 5-8
(Seras): Episode 5 goes by amazingly fast like I honestly think they rushed through this episode. First off when Ken goes to visit Touka who lives above Starbucks because she’s been feeling sick her friend from school comes to visit and sees Ken where she gets the idea that she was “disturbing” her (Nitsuj: Don’t you mean pussy-blocking? (Seras): Can’t you to be subtle?). After that Ken walks home where he saves Nishio from some other ghouls and takes him home where we see he has a normal human girlfriend named Kimi who is totally okay with him being a ghoul (Nitsuj: Even though there’s a possibility he could eat her?). We see that Nishio still hasn’t recovered from his wounds thanks to Ken and needs to eat flesh in order to heal himself (just like in the old school video games). Ken tries to help him out (I’m sorry but are you forgetting this guy tried to kill you and your friend two episodes ago?) by trying to get some flesh from Starbucks but he receives a letter from Shu saying he has Kimi and is holding her hostage. Ken and Nishio go to the spot where Shu (wearing another crazy outfit. (Nitsuj): Nothing last forever) is keeping Kimi where he expresses his desire to eat Ken while he eats Kimi (there are so many things wrong with what he just said that I honestly don’t know where they begin with it). They try to fight him but are no match for his power, even when Touka comes in to help out they’re still no match for Shu. As their fighting we see Nishio’s past and find out that he had an older sister who was also a ghoul but got betrayed by her boyfriend and killed. Nishio took revenge by killing the boyfriend and decided that he would trust no one until he met Kimi where one thing led to another and they slept with each other and eventually Kimi finding out about Nishio’s ghoul side and her allowing him to snack on her flesh for a little bit before he stopped because he loves her. Nishio uses all of his power to fight Shu but he’s no match for him and Shu continues to pierce Nishio’s stomach a number of times until he passes out. (Nitsuj): Give the guy credit he’s certainly resilient). After remembering that ghouls get stronger after eating flesh, Ken allows Touka to snack on his flesh (he wanted to show everyone he got a hickey) and allows Touka to reach her full power.
Episode 6 opens up with Touka unleashing her full powers on Shu where she finally kills the bastard (so long bad taste man). She than turns her attention to Kimi where she plans to kill her because she knows about her, Nishio, and Ken (Nitsuj: She knoweth too much) but Ken stops her saying that Kimi is like what Hido is to him (//youtu.be/YaG5SAw1n0c) an irreplaceable friend. He then brings up her relationship with Toriko and once Kimi calls her pretty Touka decides to leave confused by what she just heard (how cute she’s shy). A few days go by and we see that Nishio has started working at Starbucks to get food (it you wanna eat you gotta work). We then shift focus to Hinami’s family where she’s upset because she hasn’t been able to see her father in a long time because he’s being threaten by another powerful ghoul named Jason to make a weapon. We than cut to Hinami’s dad and Jason where Amon and Mado have found them and fight against Jason who proves to be too much for them to handle. Jason gets away but they manage to kill Hinami’s dad and find out he has a family so they begin a city search for them. As Hinami and her mother are leaving the bookstore the doves find them and trap them in an alleyway where we get one if not the saddest scene in the anime.
Episode 7 opens up where episode 6 left off. Hinami runs through the streets where she sees Ken and leads him back to where her mother is (bad idea. You should probably find another adult. (Nitsuj): One that actually does something). Ken watches as the doves kill Hinami’s mother and covers Hinami’s face to spare her the agony of seeing the death of her mother. Once Touka hears about this she seeks revenge against the men responsible for Hinami parent’s death so she goes to attack Amon wearing a bunny mask (Nitsuj: *Laughs*) and manages to back him into a corner but Mado shows up and forces her to retreat after he wounds her. She returns to Starbucks where Ken says he’s had enough of not being able to do anything (Nitsuj: Finally) and decides he wants to help Touka get revenge on Mado. They setup a time and place for Mado to come and fight them and we end with Ken finally receiving his ghoul mask (picture here: //vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/tokyoghoul/images/b/b0/Kaneki_putting_his_mask_for_the_first_time.png/revision/latest?cb=20140815225234, (Nitsuj): Is that Black Mask from Batman? (Seras): Sure why the hell not).
In episode 8 we get our big fight between Touka, Ken, Mado, and Amon. Hinami senses her mother’s presence in the waterways beneath the city and goes there where she finds her mother’s severed head in a bag (that sick fuck. Okay, I know I’m usually the one for gore and violence but…that is just fucked up. This is a child you’re dealing with. An innocent ghoul child no different from a normal child who just loss both of her parents and you taunt her by showing her the remains of her mother. You are a soulless bastard). Ken and Touka rush to her location where Touka goes into the waterway and Ken stays outside to face Amon himself while Touka fights Mado in the waterways where he’s using weapons made from the powers of Hinami’s parents. Through the fight we see the justice of all of these characters come to fruition here. Touka and Ken just want to live their lives like normal people and be accepted for who they are while Mado sees them as just monsters who deserve to die because they took away his wife and Amon feels that ghouls are bad creatures who kill people at random with no remorse (Nitsuj: Each character is fighting for what they believe is right and each one is hurting a little inside). Amon pretty much dominates over Ken (Nitsuj: Will you stop being useless and kick this guy’s ass) until he finally awakens his ghoul powers (yes! Give in to the monster inside you) and is able to fight back against Amon and beat him (Nitsuj: Nice work Ken, finish him. And your journey to the ghoul side will begin). Ken fights against his ghoul side and tells Amon to run away saying he doesn’t want to kill him (Nitsuj: Oh yes you do now kill) but Amon refuses to run so Ken uses his powers to fling Amon away and save him. Back in the waterway Touka has her problems fighting Mado despite neutralizing one of his weapons but gets help from Hinami who awakens to her powers and rips off Mado’s right hand (well that’ll put a damper on Saturday night fun. (Nitsuj): That sounds like something I would say. (Seras): Yeah well I can be a little dirty too). Touka uses this chance to deliver the final blow to Mado killing him and leaving his body for Amon to find.
Episodes 9-12
(Nitsuj): We start off episode 9 by seeing how Amon and Mado met each other and became partners (the grade A student meeting the crazy but thoughtful veteran). We see how at first Amon thought Mado was just some crazy bastard who had no idea what he was doing (Seras: He’s wasn’t the only one who thought this) but once Amon got saved by him he started to gain respect for Mado and trust him (Seras: The crazy are often led by the craziest. (Nitsuj): Ain’t that the truth. Luckily you got me as your leader. (Seras): Well it was either you or the psychopath from my universe. If given the choice I choose to go with the one who knows he’s crazy, in other words you). After the flashback Amon finds out that he’s been taken out of the 20th ward (Ken’s area) and being assigned to a special task force in the 11th ward since the ghouls in that area have been getting very rowdy as of lately killing a number of people including their own (happy hunting boys). For the rest of the episode we focus a little on the Starbuck workers particularly Ken and Touka. We see that Hinami is slowly returning back to her usual cheerful self (but still gets Batman nightmares whenever she passes by the alley where her mother died. (Seras): Sad times). We learn that Touka has a younger brother named Ayako who is also a ghoul like her and left the 20th ward for his own reasons (too much peace not enough killing). Ken also gets the short end lease in the parent department as both of his parents died when he was younger (probably for the best, who knows how pointless and a waste of animation they would be). The episode ends with a number of ghouls from the 11th ward coming or making plans to enter the 20th ward in the hopes of finding Rize to either kill her or protect her (looks like Ken wasn’t the only one who had plans to knock on Rize’s demented door).
Episode 10 opens with the 11th ward Dove’s office getting taken out by ghouls who are part of a group known as Aogiri Tree a large group of ghouls who only live for the joy of fighting. They attack humans and ghouls all in effort to prove that they are the superior beings (I’m getting the strange feeling that you’re responsible for this group Seras. (Seras): I might have had a hand in the group’s ideas). The next day another ghoul from the 11th ward called Kazuichi and his followers come to Starbucks looking for Rize (Seras: A few parts of her are in a construction yard, a few more in the hospital, and the rest are right in the twitchy boy with an eye patch right in front of you. Scene here: //youtu.be/NbhejBWO_dM). Kazuichi smells Rize’s scent on Ken and thinks he and Rize are a couple (for like half a day and then they broke up). Flustered by this he tries to attack Ken but gets knocked out with a head-butt (scene here: //youtu.be/k3s9pU8ndQo, epic fail on his part). He wakes up later where Ken not having the guts to tell Kazuichi that Rize is dead and living inside his body tells the lie that Rize is no longer around (Seras: Well he’s not technically lying). Kazuichi tells them to warn Rize that ghouls are coming after her (okay what did she do to have all these ghouls pissed off at her?) and just as he finishes warning them Ayako busts in through the windows to greet them (we have a door you know) and his big sister (Seras: Sibling love). Jason and a crossdressing masochist ghoul by the name of Nico come in where Jason beats the crap out of Ken (Seras: A running factor in the series thus far. Scene here: //youtu.be/d56c8B4IQck?t=7s) and takes his unconscious body with him leaving Touka knocked out and badly injured by Ayako. Yoshimura and Yomo return to the shop, see the wreckage (I hope you have insurance), and call for a meeting of the ghouls where they make a resolve to save Ken. This situation is so dire that they called in a most unlikely ally to help. Shu (Seras: Oh God, the walking fashion disaster has returned).
(Seras): Episode 11 is where the excitement begins but it’s also where disappointment sets in (Nitsuj: How so? (Seras): You’ll see). In this episode the doves have begun their attack on the ghouls of the 11th ward and Ken’s friends are also there infiltrating the building searching for him and taking out the ghouls as well. Because of this we get a lot of action and killing (something I enjoy very much). Touka crosses swords with Amon and escapes him only to run into Ayako (the sibling rivalry continues). The doves work their way through the buildings and secure each floor until they reach the roof where they meet the One-eyed Owl a very powerful S-Rank ghoul who is so dangerous that their leader tells those who aren’t ready to die to leave right now. Now the one thing this episode fails hard on (Nitsuj: Besides the censoring of the gory scenes) is that they skip over Ken’s torture scenes. That was a huge part of the manga and they skipped over it in this episode. I admit the torture was very sadistic and gory but come on this played a huge part in the manga (we also see Jason’s past: //youtu.be/RpW1O74Zlg8).
In the final episode we go inside Ken’s mind which is filled with white flowers everywhere (//youtu.be/nbsWQqnWS_s). Rize makes an appearance in his mind where we explore his childhood. We see that he and his mother lived alone with the father dying long before he was born. Money was tight so his mother worked all night and day and doing house chores in her spare time while also raising and taking care of Ken and giving her greedy sister money until finally she died from overworking herself. (Nitsuj): I would say I’m shocked by this but I’m not. She overworked herself trying to take care of everyone. In other words she was being too selfless. (Seras): Wow, master you’re sounding pretty mean aren’t you? (Nitsuj): Look don’t get me wrong I enjoy doing selfless acts as well but at the same time I have to take care of myself and the person who’s depending on me the most. Ken’s mom doesn’t realize this and as a result got taken advantage of by her sister which forced her to overwork and kill herself. (Seras): Throughout the flashback we see scenes of Jason torturing Ken and at one point actually forcing him to choose between two ghouls to decide which one will live and which one will die. Ken can’t choose because he believes sternly in his mother’s philosophy of it’s better to be hurt than to hurt others (Bull. Shit. You’re basically telling Ken to be a doormat or a flight of stairs. Let people walk all over you and accept it. No! That’s not how life works! If anything that’s like being a dog). Because Ken can’t choose Jason winds up killing both of them all because Ken couldn’t choose who he wanted to live and who he wanted to die. Rize continues to berate Ken for his life philosophy telling him that he’s not being brave but instead acting stupid and refusing to face the situation that’s in front of him (Nitsuj: I can’t believe I’m saying this but I am totally on her side of this argument) and tells him that if he continues down this path everyone around him will die for it (and then you’ll really be alone with no one to blame but yourself). She finally gets Ken to admit that he wished his mother had hurt others to keep him fed and keep herself alive even if that meant hurting her bum of a sister. With that Ken finally learns that sometimes in order to preserve one thing you have to give up the other and he breaks the shackles holding him in his mind and accepts his ghoul powers turning his hair white and everything. Back in the real world Ken breaks free from his chains and fights Jason in a rather good fight scene ending the season on a somewhat high note with Ken beating Jason and devouring him (scene here: //youtu.be/6g9-pez5gKE).
(Nitsuj): So that was the first season of Tokyo Ghoul. We’re gonna hold off on the final score until next week and stop here for now but we’ll be back next week to review the second season. Will the folks of the coffee shop survive? We’ll find out next as Ani-ween continues. WAHAHAHAHA-
*Seras kicks Nitsuj in the groin and he goes down in pain*
(Nitsuj): Ohhhhhhh~!
(Seras): I warned you. Don’t say coffee shop again. Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you next time on Project Nitusj.
