Hey guys, Nitsuj here, and happy holidays to everyone out there. Welcome to the side blog the blogs between the blogs where today we take a look at the anime set to come out this winter. With December right around the corner, winter isn’t too far away which means the fall anime will be ending soon so what better time to take a look at the anime set to come out and give our first impressions on them. The fall anime has been alright, not too many major hits except for Mahoutsukai no Yome, Kekkai Sensen, Kino’s Journey, and Food Wars which are all great and anime I recommend checking out. With that said, let’s take a look at what’s coming out for the winter.

Basilisk: Ouka Ninpouchou
First up is a sequel Basilisk: Kouga Ninpouchou which takes place 10 years after prequel. Didn’t watch the first season so skipping this one.
Beatless
Taking place in the future of Japan, humanoid androids have pretty much taken all of our jobs. One night a young man named Endou gets assaulted by one of them and cornered where another one comes to save his life. I might watch this.
Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card-hen
The hit TV show from the 90s makes a return where this time the anime will be following the manga’s sequel Sakura enters middle school. Not really my thing but I wish this show luck.
Citrus
This one is sure to catch your interest. It centers around a fun-loving girl named Yuzuko whose mom remarries and she has to go to an all-girl school where she meets the very strict student council president Mei who quickly puts her foot down for Yuzuko’s happy-go lucky attitude. The twist comes when Yuzuko arrives home and discovers that Mei is her new stepsister and actually kisses Yuzuko out of nowhere showing her love and affection. Alright this has my interest. I’m gonna check it out.
Dagashi Kashi 2
The second season of Dagashi Kashi. Didn’t watch the first season but I heard it has a good fanbase. Not watching.
Dame×Prince ANIME CARAVAN
Based off a game app for your cellphone the anime will follow a princess at a peace signing summit where she’ll become surrounded by a bunch of hot guys who are princes. I’ll give it to the AI girls and see what they do with it.
Darling in the Franxx
A mecha anime produced through the collaboration of A-1 Pictures and Studio Trigger. Following the typical mecha set up, the story takes place in the future where humanity is on the brink of extinction due to these huge alien-like creatures, and children have to fight them in mecha suits. A typical set up but if Studio Trigger is involved in the set up I’m sure that things will be much more different. Watching it.
Death March Kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku
Based off a light novel, the story centers around a 29-year-old programmer who wakes up only to find himself in another world where through a series of events he gains vast riches from a meteor shower and decides to go sightseeing. I’ll give it a watch.
Fate/EXTRA Last Encore
A video game adaptation of Fate/Extra. Skipping it. But if I were to get a good number of patrons I be more than happy to give it a good watch along with the other animes in the Fate series.
Gakuen Babysitters
Here’s a strange and heartwarming anime. In centers around a boy and his toddler brother who lost their parents in a plane accident. They get adopted by the headmistress of an academy who also lost her son and daughter in the same accident on the condition that the older boy works at the academy daycare center. Skipping it.
Gin no Guardian 2
Second season of Gin Guardian. Never heard of this anime. It’s based off a Chinese webcomic and I’ve been really interested in checking out anime from China so for now I’m gonna skip this anime but come back to it some day.
Grancrest Senki
This anime sounds cool. It takes place on a continent ruled by chaos where the lords of the country use their powers known as Crest to bring order to the land. But one day they begin fighting each other for their Crests and now all hope lays with a mage and a wandering knight to bring order to a land full of chaos and war. Watching it.
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens
Here’s another anime that sounds cool. It takes place in a city of crime where in one ward which serves as the home for the city’s underworld, a killer of professional killers has emerged and is killing other killers. This sounds awesome, I’m watching it.
Hakumei to Mikochi
A peaceful anime about tiny girls and their day to day lives. Skipping it.
Hakyuu Houshin Engi
A sorceress seduces the emperor of a powerful dynasty and makes him her puppet. Hoping to stop her, a young wizard is sent by the gods to fight against the sorceress and the evils that plague the land. I might watch this.
IDOLiSH 7
A male idol anime. Skipping it.
Ito Junji: Collection
An anime that adapts the stories of Ito Junji Kessaku-shuu series and the Fragments of Horror book. I might check I out.
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san
A guy tries to get revenge on a girl by making her blush. Skipping it.
Killing Bites
Animal people are created and after one animal girl slaughters the friends of our MC she’s assigned to protect him from danger. I might watch this.
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
A girl who works at a family restaurant begins to fall in love with her manager who is a 45-year-old divorced man with his own son. Not watching.
Kokkoku
A weird anime where a family has the ability to stop time. Not watching.
Miira no Kaikata
Follows the story of a little mummy. Not watching.
Mitsuboshi Colors
Girls using their powers to protect their city. Skipping it.
Märchen Mädchen
A girl gets transported to a magical school where her powers and the powers of everyone there come from fairy tales and folklores. Watching it.
Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu
The highly anticipated arrival of the second season of Nanatsu no Taizai. Watching it.
Overlord 2
The other highly anticipated arrival of the second season of Overlord and yes, it is being done by Madhouse. Watching it.
Pop Team Epic
An anime based off the 4-panal comedy of two girls. Not watching.
Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san
Focuses on a girl who likes ramen. Not watching.
Ryuuou no Oshigoto!
A boy who is a champion of shogi gets a prodigy as his apprentice. I might watch this.
Sanrio Danshi
An anime about boys who like cute stuffed animals and their fight to not feel ashamed of it. Not watching.
Slow Start
Focuses on a girl who started school one year late and her fight to catch up to her classmates. Not watching.
Takunomi.
Just girls bonding over alcohol and food. Skipping it.
Toji no Miko
Shrine maidens using swords and magic to save the country from the supernatural. Watching it.
Uchuu Yorimo Toui Basho
Girls going to the South Pole. Not watching.
Violet Evergarden
A series that a lot of people in Japan are excited about. It focuses on androids who run errands and stuff. I’ll check it out and see what happens.
Yowamushi Pedal: GLORY LINE
The surprisingly popular anime about bicycling returns. Not watching.
Yuru Camp△
A group of people who enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji. Not watching.
Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru
Second season of Zoku Touken Ranbu. Not watching.
Final Thoughts
So that’s the winter line up and it looks good. At first, I didn’t think it was going to be all that good but we have the return of Overlord and Nanatsu no Taizai and some other interesting anime that I’m looking forward to watching and checking out. 2018 is said to be an exciting year for anime and it looks like the year is starting off good.
