Chapter 47: Lost History

*One hour before power and communications could be restored to the kingdom, ten members of Blood Moon being led by Muta were walking up the steps to the museum. Muta walked up to the doors of the museum and ran his claw against them before turning back to the members of Blood Moon*

(Muta): Break it down.

*Muta and everyone else parted from the front door and cleared a path for two big demihumans wearing a black elephant and rhino mask. After getting a running start, both demihumans charge at the front and break it down with their shoulders. Muta and the rest of Blood Moon enter the building as five human security guards came running out of the security room after hearing the loud noise. Before the security guards could draw their guns, Muta slashed all of them using his speed and lightning claw to take them down. As the guards laid on the ground bleeding and in pain, Muta and Blood Moon made their way up the stairs and entered the exhibit containing the blade of Aitana. They shatter the glass container and Muta pulls out the blade*

(Muta): We have what we came for. Let’s-

(Blood Moon member): Wooooooooooooahhh~!

*A Blood Moon member wearing the black mask of a pig comes flying over the group and slams into the wall before falling to the ground unconscious. The remaining members of Blood Moon turn around and see Morgan and Jade with an ice spirit carrying a sword by the side of Morgan and another ice spirit on Morgan’s right shoulder holding a bow*

(Morgan): I had a feeling you would be here. Now it’s all starting to add up.

(Muta): *Chuckles* So you figured it out. Better late than never.

(Morgan): The riots, prison break, power outage, and loss of communication was all caused by Blood Moon as one big diversion to rescue their members being held captive.

(Muta): And to retrieve the blade of Aitana. While everyone is running around scared and confused we could accomplish our original goal and slip out of the kingdom unnoticed. Once everyone realizes what happened we’ll be long gone.

*After Muta gets done talking he notices that Jin isn’t with them*

(Muta): Is it just you two? Where is that one young knight that was with you the first time? I was hoping to see him before I left. I wanted to personally congratulate him for capturing me.

(Jade): He’s on another mission right now, but I don’t mind serving as a substitute for him.

*Jade took out her blade and ran towards Muta. A few members of Blood Moon got in her way and fired balls of magic at her. Jade leaps into the air jumping over the members of Blood Moon to reach Muta. Jade comes falling down swinging her blade where it clashes with Muta’s claw. Sparks of electricity come flying from the claw as Jade landed. A member of Blood Moon wearing a black cow mask tried to attack Jade from behind with their glowing orange hands, but she sensed the attack and spun around to deliver a backhand to the face of the cow demihuman and grabbed them by the shirt. Jade then spun herself and the demihuman around to face Muta where she used the demihuman as a shield to protect herself from Muta’s lightning claw. Muta’s claw slashed the back of demihuman who screamed out in pain before Jade tossed them to the side and then kicked Muta in the stomach to knock him back. Muta quickly recovered his footing and charged at Jade where his claw and her blade collided with each other once again and they began to parry each other with their weapons*

*As Jade and Muta were parrying each other, the members of Blood Moon were about to intervene but fell down because of the floor around them turned into ice thanks to Morgan. The two ice spirits then tossed a net over the members of Blood Moon to trap and pin them to the ground. With the members of Blood Moon under control, Morgan could now focus his attention on Muta. Jade and Muta continued to parry each other’s weapon until Muta went down low and tried to sweep her legs, but Jade jumped in the air to avoid the attack. Once she landed, Muta swung his leg back and managed to sweep her off her feet. Jade came crashing to the ground backwards while Muta rose back to his feet just in time to sidestep an attack from the knight ice spirit who swung its sword at Muta. Out of the corner of his eyes, Muta saw the archer ice spirit fire an arrow at him where the arrow hit the blade of Aitana out of his hand. The blade was caught by the knight ice spirit who ran back towards Morgan. Before Muta could go after the spirit, Jade grabbed him from behind and threw him face first into the wall. Slightly dazed and his nose bleeding a little bit, Muta gained an agitated look on his face he charged at Jade where he slid past her to make it to the net holding the members of Blood Moon. Muta slashed open the net to free them*

(Muta): Retrieve the blade. I shall deal with her.

*The members of Blood Moon rose to their feet and went after Morgan and his ice spirts who fled the room. Muta turned his attention back to Jade where the two charged at each other. Muta dodged a blade thrust from Jade while she dodged his claw slash. Muta managed to grab her arm and elbow her in the ribs which stunned her and then he thrust his claws into Jade’s side where he unleashed electricity throughout her body. Jade screamed out in pain as she was being shocked. After a few seconds, Muta pulled his claws out and kicked Jade to the floor. Jade laid their motionless as Muta went to inspect the body to make sure she was dead only to get fooled when Jade opened her eyes and leaped up to lock Muta in a head scissors with her legs and deliver a hurricanrana which threw Muta to the ground back first. Jade then followed up her hurricanrana with a elbow drop to the stomach which sent her and Muta crashing through the floor to the room beneath them*

***

*Out in the main lobby Morgan heard the crash that Jade and Muta made*

(Morgan): Idiots! Have respect for these priceless artifacts!

*Morgan then dodged a magic ball of fire being aimed at him. He looked and saw that the ball of fire was shot by a demihuman wearing a black duck mask*

(Duck demihuman): If I was you, I’d be more concerned with my well-being.

*The duck demihuman fired off another ball of fire where Morgan created an ice wall to defend himself and his spirits. Pointing his wand upward, Morgan concentrated and created a block of ice which hovered over the head of the duck demihuman. The block of ice fell and landed on top of the head of the duck demihuman to knock them out. A demihuman with a bear mask carrying a chainsaw sliced through the wall of ice and Morgan jumped back to avoid getting attacked. Morgan then tossed a blue crystal he got from his pocket at the bear demihuman who sliced it with his chainsaw which released a white mist which froze over their body entirely. Two demihumans with hedgehog masks began firing metal spikes at Morgan from their bodies. Morgan ducked to avoid getting hit by the spikes and his archer ice spirit returned fire. The spirit managed to hit one of the demihumans in the head with an arrow to knock them out, but the other one was still standing and moving in for the kill until it got blindsided by the knight ice spirit who slashed the demihuman across the chest with its ice sword. The demihuman fell down clutching its chest and curling up into a ball as if they were cold. The last four demihumans had on a hawk, turtle, coyote, and racoon mask and each had a ball of magic in their hand that was wind, lightning, stone and water. Morgan had a standoff with the four demihumans where they fired off their magic elemental balls which combined to form a giant sphere of magic. Morgan gripped his wand and concentrated to form a giant ball of ice and fired it off. The two balls of magic collided with each other and shook the building. All five mages were concentrating their magic to defeat the other but ultimately Morgan would prevail. Morgan’s ice ball broke through the other magic ball and hit the four demihumans unleashing an explosion of cold shards which sent two demihumans flying and gave them all frostbite. Morgan exhaled and let out a sigh of relief*

(Morgan): Challenging me in a battle of magic was a mistake.

*Before he realized it, Morgan was sent flying into the air and hit the ceiling face first with force by a gust of wind. Another gust of wind shot Morgan back down the ground and he landed hard on his backside. As Morgan laid on the ground in pain, his spirits ran over to him and were both cut in half by a gust of wind. As the two spirits began to disappear, Han came walking in snickering at his handy work and holding a staff with a green orb sticking out at the top. Han reached down and grabbed the blade of Aitana to reclaim it for Blood Moon. As Morgan was slowly rising to his feet, Han pointed his staff at Morgan to create a gust of wind. The orb began to glow green and the gust of wind was created which sent Morgan flying off to the right where he crashed into the wall face first and then another gust of wind shot him off to the left where he crashed through a glass case and knocked over a suit of armor. Morgan went through the glass case face first but he was able to protect his face by getting his arms up just in time to absorb some of the damage. Small pieces of glass stuck to the arms and face of Morgan. Small lines of blood could be seen dripping down his face*

(Han): *Chuckles* It appears I was right to hang back and not charge in like the others. Always send in the pawns first. Let them do all the hard work and then allow the smarter pieces to take all the glory.

*As Han continued to gloat over Morgan, Muta came flying out of a room breathing heavily and wiping blood from his nose and lip. His prison jumpsuit was slightly torn and he had a cut mark on his right shoulder*

(Han): Muta! What’s the meaning of this?

(Muta): This woman I’m fighting is different. I’ve shocked her six times and sent enough voltage through her body to take down a herd of elephants and yet she’s still standing.

*Jade emerged from the room with her body slightly bruised and the punctured area by her ribs has been closed up completely as if she was never punctured by Muta in the first place. Jade quickly took notice of Morgan on the floor and the blade of Aitana in the hands of Han. With anger in her eyes, Jade charged at Han and Muta determined to take them down. However, Muta acted quickly, picked Morgan up and placed his claws to his throat. Jade immediately stopped in her tracks*

(Muta): That’s a good girl. Now drop your weapon. Or he dies.

*Jade complies and drops her weapon. Muta motions for the members of the Blood Moon to make towards the door so that they can make their escape. Once Han the others were out of the door Muta tossed Morgan to the ground and made his escape as well. Jade ran over to Morgan to make sure he was okay and then ran outside where she saw the members of Blood Moon use a manhole to escape. As Jade hit a nearby pillar in frustration the streetlights came back on*

Author’s Notes: And Blood Moon’s plan was a success. Not much to say about this chapter. It’s pretty straightforward and it’s the first time we’ve seen Shadow Eye get bested in a fight. Next chapter, Shadow Eye will be taking a backseat as it’s time to reclaim the kingdom and the commanders will be taking center stage. They’ve waited long enough. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time.
