(Sera): Allow me to talk about merfolk. We have been called the people of the sea and the descendants of Azure the God of Water. A majority of the merfolk live on Calisto Island, however there are some in recent years who have ventured out into other kingdoms and areas to settle down. If there’s a good water source nearby chances are merfolk aren’t far. We merfolk love the water. We can breathe underwater, enjoy crafting and hunting, and our diets mostly consist of fish/meat and fruit. As far as appearances go we merfolk almost look like humans and elves. We have the same body type as humans except our ears are longer but not as long as an elf. We’re somewhere down the middle. Merfolk have often acted as sea guides for sailors out at sea. Keeping them safe from harm, exploring dangerous waters, warning them of storms, and helping those who are lost. For years merfolk have kept to themselves. Only allowing few races onto Calisto at a time in order to protect the people and those that venture out into the world have reported bad treatment. However, I remain confident that merfolk and the other races can coexist with each other which is why I am here in Brister. I wish to become that bridge that unites merfolk with the world. It can be scary at times and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the comfort and safety of Calisto, but there’s too much at stake here for me and my people. To live in a world fully isolated from everyone is no way to live and it is a future I do not wish to imagine.
