Project #524: The Top 11 Anime Endings of 2022

Hello and welcome to Project Nitsuj. We’re in the final week of our final look at 2022 by naming the best anime endings. 2022 had a lot of good ending songs and I’m here to give my picks on which ones I thought were best. I’m Nitsuj and these are the top 11 Anime Endings of 2022.

#11. Bokura ga Oroka da Nante Dare ga Itta from Skeleton Knight in Another World

https://youtu.be/CRotVXCbOk0 (full song)

Man, Dialogue+ just came in and just went all out with this song. The melody, singing, and instrumental are amazing here. If the opening was like a rollercoaster of adrenaline, this is like an after-party of excitement. It was easily one of my favorite endings from the Spring line-up and one that I never wanted to skip over.

#10. I’m in LOVE from Yurei Deco

https://youtu.be/kpwsDH4_-Uw (full song)

Kinda an underrated ending that a lot of people didn’t pay attention to, but I liked it. It’s got a great beat, it’s exciting, but not too exciting where it feels like an opening. It’s a song that puts me in a good mood and just makes you appreciate everything around you.

#9. 255,255,255 from Tokyo 24-ku

https://youtu.be/h6Nw9iG3a0E (full song)

This song makes the list because of the flow. The flow of this song is seriously amazing, it doesn’t skip a beat and the image it creates in your mind is soothing to me. Every time I hear this song I just imagine myself walking at night and staring up at the stars. That’s the image I get from this song. While the anime didn’t catch my interest this ending sure as hell did and almost makes me want to check out the anime.

#8. Rivals from Shoot! Goal to the Future

https://youtu.be/gWoVE-VKUgU (full song)

Here’s a banger. Man, 2022 just saw a lot of bangers for anime endings. This song felt like something from the 90s or early 2000s. Just uplifting, addicting to listen to, and you never get tired of it. This song was made by a group I haven’t heard before but they seriously nail it here and I hope we hear more of these guys. Whether it be in anime endings, openings, or just life in general.

#7. Kaika from Summertime Render

https://youtu.be/Dy3zozaSe3c (full song)

I have to admit, at first I wasn’t really a big fan of this song, but then I watched episode 3 and man did this song hit differently. All the pieces finally came together and elevated the song from good to great in my book. The song just makes you feel nostalgic whenever you hear it. Even now, I only just got around to watching the anime and it’s already making me feel nostalgic. I’m only on episode 5, that’s how great the song is. While I’ve heard the second ending is great as well, this ending for me is the best the series has right now.

#6. Call of the Night from Call of the Night

https://youtu.be/v_qtRmBlMvg (full song)

You may think this song was created for the series, but nope, it’s the other way around. The author got the name of this series from the song and then got it used as the actual ending. You follow all of that? Good. After reading the lyrics you can actually see how this song inspired the story of the manga and get mesmerized by the song. I know a lot of anime watchers out there aren’t big fans of rap but I am, and it makes me happy to see two things I like so much mash up wonderfully together. It shows Samurai Champloo wasn’t a fluke and that rap music when used correctly and put in the hands of those who understand it, can have a place in anime.

#5. Stuck on You from More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers

https://youtu.be/gGfslDklCtg (full song)

Looking for something slower but still a banger? Well here you go. This is another song that hits wonderfully with the anime you’re watching. Along with the simple but addicting beat, Nowlu’s soft voice throughout the song puts you in a relaxing state to fully appreciate the song for what it is. It’s a chill song for an interesting anime and the two fit perfectly with each other.

#4. Fight Song from Chainsaw Man

https://youtu.be/2eOg5DoYuwU (full song)

Following in the shoes of Dorohedoro, Chainsaw Man also had multiple endings all season with the added bonus of having a different band/artist for each episode. Each song was a banger and matched up with the episode and series. The only fault I find with these endings is that they didn’t get Unchain to do an ending. Their music matches up perfectly with this series and there were so many fan videos on Youtube that backed this up. Still, they saved the best ending for last with Eve coming in and delivering a great song to end the season on a high note.

#3. Cobalt from Mob Psycho S3

https://youtu.be/KpTcCDOIu84 (full song)

The ending songs in Mob have always been great, but this ending by far is the best of the bunch. The song is actually a good follow-up to the first ending and matches the character of Mob and his growth throughout the anime. Not much to say about this one, it’s great to listen to and makes you feel proud of the person Mob has become.

#2. Flash from Play it Cool, Guys

https://youtu.be/ZPwNLFNbMJY (full song)

It’s always cool when an anime lets the VAs sing the ending. It adds a more personal touch to the anime. The VAs of our four main characters sounds great here. The voices complement each other and I do like how each one has their own version of the song that they sing fully. Personally, however, I think the one with them singing it as a group is the best by far. In an anime that follows these guys trying to do their best every day, this song really shows the guys at their best.

And number one. . .

#1. Comedy from SpyxFamily

https://youtu.be/D_Oyplmhhv0 (full song)

Come on? Was there any other option? The first ending to SpyxFamily was so wholesome and beautiful that it perfectly matches up with the series. In an anime where people are pretending to be a family, they exemplify the type of family we all dream of having one day. Or just being happy in general. Whether that be starting a family of your own one day or just spending your days being happy and laughing this song really does encapsulates everything we want out of life and was a song I couldn’t bring myself to skip over.

And that’s my list. What was your favorite ending of 2022? Did I leave any out? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time in Project Nitsuj.
